USC wrestlers lose to Razorbacks 51-19
The United South Central Rebel wrestlers had a tough time of it when they battled the Westfield Razorbacks on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The Rebels fell to the Razorbacks by a score of 51 to 19.
Westfield jumped off to a 12-0 lead when USC’s Kolt Bullerman lost by a pin at 106 pounds and the Rebels forfeited at 113.
Bryce Sonnek got USC on the board with an 8-4 decision at 120 pounds.
However, Ethan Elvebak lost a 5-3 decision at 126 pounds and the Rebels had to forfeit at 132 and 138.
That put the Razorbacks up 27-3.
USC staged a small comeback with Micah Hamson scoring a 14-3 major decision at 145 pounds and Konnor Harpestad getting a pin at 152 cutting the Razorback lead to 27-13.
USC had to forfeit at 160 and 170, and Collin Van Cleave lost by a fall at 182. Both teams forfeited at 195 pounds for no score, and the Rebels had to forfeit at 220, as well.
The Rebels’ Matt Beyer ended the match on a positive note for USC with a pin at 285 pounds, making the final 51-19.
