United South Central wrestler Bryce Sonnek is the 2021 Gopher Conference Wrestler of the Year.

The Gopher Conference released the post-season awards for all winter sports this past week.

Sonnek, a senior, finished the season with a 21-3 record and recorded 113 career wins. He was a three-time Section 2A individual champion and qualified for the State Tournament three times.

USC senior Micah Hamson was also named to the All-Conference wrestling team while juniors Ethan Elvebak and Konner Harpestad received honorable mention. Bryce Getchell received the sportsmanship award.

Boys basketball

Senior Riley Staloch was a second team All-conference selection for boys basketball. Junior Colten Quade received honorable mention and senior Mason Stevermer was the sportsmanship award recipient.

Girls basketball

Senior Izzy O’Rourke received honorable mention from the Gopher Conference. Fellow senior Dani Kirkeide was recognized with the sportsmanship award.
