USC girls gain win in track opener
The United South Central girls track team won the girls portion of the track meet at the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (NRHEG) track meet on Thursday, April 15. The USC Rebel boys were third.
“We had a very competitive night,” says coach Kara Christianson. “The girls and boys are getting athletes back from quarantine and our team points are reflecting that.”
The girls had a good night scoring in most events, sometimes gaining multiple scores in an event.
“We were able to fill out most of the line-up, falling short in the jumps,” the coach says. “We will be adding to that in the very near future.”
The coach added that it was very exciting for the girls to win the meet and they are looking forward to their home meet on Thursday, April 22.
