Rebel baseball team picks up two wins

For the second game in a row, the United South Central Rebels put up double figures for runs scored.

On Monday, May 3, the Rebels downed the Blooming Prairie Blossoms by a score of 11-1.

USC scored a run in both the first and second innings, then had four runs in both the third and fourth innings, and finished with one more run in the fifth.

Blooming Prairie had their single run scored in the third inning.

Most of the Rebel team had at least one hit. Nick Bushlack was 2 for 2, while Andy Krohnberg and Colten Quade were both 2 for 3.

Bushlack, Krohnberg, Ian Crawford, Jackson Spirrizzi and K. Harpestad all had doubles and Quade had a triple in the game.

Crawford pitched all five innings and allowed the one run on five hits, had three walks and 10 strikeouts.

USC 10, WEM 3

The United South Central Rebels baseball team notched a big win on Thursday, April 29, when they downed the Waterville-Elysian-Buccaneers 10-3.

The Rebels were trailing 1-0 after the first inning when they exploded for four runs in the third. WEM came back with two runs in the fourth to get close at 4-3, but USC got another run in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth and an additional run in the seventh.

The Rebels were led by Nick Bushlack who went 4 for 5 at the plate, scored two runs and had one RBI. Andy Krohnberg was 3 for 5, scored three runs and had two RBI. Jackson Spirrizzi and Colten Quade were both 2 for 4.

In all, the Rebels had 16 hits to get to their 10 runs. The Bucs had just four hits on their way to their three runs. USC had four errors, WEM had three.
