Softball team wins two against Cards

The Blue Earth Area softball team made the long trip to Redwood Falls to take on the Redwood Valley Cardinals in a doubleheader on Monday, May 3.

The girls were determined to make it worth their while and came home with two victories.

BEA’s offense produced 18 runs in the opening contest and the team powered their way to an 18-11 victory over the Cardinals.

Kylee Eckmann had a double and drove in two runs. Olivia Dutton also had two RBIs and got on base with a single and a double.

Roxanne Quintero had three hits in five trips to the plate while Taylor Klabunde contributed an RBI single. Clara Ziegler also had two hits for the Maroon and Gold.

BEA 11, RWV 7

The Bucs kept their bats going in the closing game of the twin bill and produced an 11-7 victory.

Ziegler continued to be hot at the plate and added two more hits and three RBIs during the second game. Eckmann went 2-for-3 in the second game and McKenna Dutton also had two hits in three at bats.

Ashlyn Klinkner added a RBI single to help contribute to the victory.
