USC boys take third place twice
Finish behind Blooming Prairie and Faribault Bethlehem Academy
The United South Central boys golf team came in third at their second Gopher Conference meet of the season, played in Blooming Prairie on Tuesday, April 27.
The Rebels shot a team score of 181. In first place was host Blooming Prairie with a score of 163 and in second was Faribault Bethlehem Academy at 177. New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva was fourth with 203, Maple River fifth at 204 and Hayfield was incomplete.
Freshman Blake Bullerman, coming off a first place finish at a recent JV meet, led the USC varsity team as well with a score of 43, good for seventh overall on the cool, wet afternoon.
Luke Pederson shot a 45 good for 10th overall, Carter Hart a 46 and 12th overall, Brennan Anderson a 47 for 14th overall, Levi Hinkley a 50 and 20th overall and Landan Magnuson a 51 and 21st overall.
Low score for the day and medalist honors went to Colin Jordison of Blooming Prairie who shot a 1-over par 37 on his home course.
With two conference meets in the books, the USC boys golf team is in third place with a record of 6-4.
Gopher Conference Meet
Oak View Golf Course
The United South Central boys golf team came in third at their third Gopher Conference meet on Tuesday, May 4.
But, the Rebels were just three strokes back of the first place finishers, Blooming Prairie.
The Blossoms shot a team total 178, with Faribault Bethlehem Academy in second at 180 and the Rebels of USC third with a score of 181.
Maple River was fourth with a 198 and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva and Hayfield had incomplete team scores.
The meet was a home one for the Rebels, played at Oak View Golf Course on a nice, but a bit breezy day.
USC was led by freshman Kadyn Neubauer who shot a 42 – just one stroke back of medalist Colin Jordison of Blooming Prairie who shot a 41.
Rebel golfers Luke Pederson and Blake Bullerman each shot a 44 while Carter Hart carded a 51 to round out the USC team tally.
USC’s other two golfers, Landan Magnuson and Levi Hinkley, each shot a 54.
With three conference meets in the books, the USC boys golf team is in third place with a record of 9-6.
