Track teams compete in Windom

Windom was the site of a May 6 track meet which saw the Jackson County Central Huskies take first place in the girls portion of the meet with 97 points. The host Eagles were second with 89, Redwood Valley was third with 83, Blue Earth Area took fourth with 76 and St. James finished fifth with 24.

Eloise Blair brought home two first-place finishes in the hurdles. She won the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.90 and the 300-meter low hurdles with a season-best time of 50.12. Lizzy Uecker finished in fourth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 57.85.

Téa Armstrong had a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash in 13.92. Lauren Bleess placed fifth with a personal-best time of 14.23.

In the 400-meter dash, it was Addison Armstrong taking first place with a time of 67.31. Elizabeth Jacobson was fifth in 73.18.

The Bucs had three girls finish in the top five in the 200-meter dash. Téa Armstrong was second in 28.39, Sophie Keister was fourth in 29.28 and Bleess was fifth in 29.80.

Téa Armstrong continued her successful day with a throw of 32-7 in the shot put which was good for third place. Chloe Groe had a toss of 28-8 1/2 to finish fifth.

Groe finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 81-9 while Marianna Rincon took fifth with a toss of 75-5.

Keister took third in the high jump when she cleared the bar at 4-6.

Haley Kalis nabbed a fifth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 26-10.

The pole vault saw Addison Armstrong clear a height of 8-0 which was good for fourth place.

In the 4×200-meter relay, Addison Armstrong, Kate Armon, Lizzy Uecker and Tailor Douglas finished third with a time of 2:00.39.

Téa Armstrong, Keister, Bleess and Douglas joined forces to finish second in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 55.55.

Addison Armstrong, Armon, Douglas and Blair took second place in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:37.62.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Calli Ferguson, Jacobson, Aubrey Hueper and Leah Becker finished third in 13:04.00.

Boys results

The BEA boys finished in the middle of the pack in the five-team field with 75 points. Redwood Valley took first place with 96 points followed by Jackson County Central with 89. In fourth place with 59 points was Windom and St. James finished in fifth place with 53 points.

Riley Anderson had a personal best time of 11.72 in the 100-meter dash to capture third place. Austin Thielfoldt was fourth in 11.85.

Anderson placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.07.

Gabe Torres finished in third place in the 400-meter dash in 57.16.

Nick Frank won the shot put event with a toss of 43-11. Luke Norman was fourth with a throw of 40-10 1/2 and Jack Norman was fifth with 38-6.
