The United South Central boys golf team was in third place after Day 1 of the Section 2A Golf Tournament, and remained in third place after the second day.

From the 12 teams competing on Day 1, just the four lowest scoring teams continued on to Day 2, on Monday, June 7. The Section 2A Golf Meet was held at North Links Golf Course, near North Mankato.

The Rebels had a total two-day score of 699 (355-344) at Section to place third. In first place, and headed to the State Golf Tournament, is Sleepy Eye United with their score of 633 (318-315). Springfield was second with 682 (341-341). In fourth was Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at 724 (362-362).

One Rebel golfer is going to the State Golf Meet as an individual, however.

USC freshman Kadyn Neubauer shot a two-day total of 163 (85-78) which put him in eighth place and earned him a trip to State.

The members of the top team headed to State also all go as individuals, plus the next five lowest scoring individuals who are not on that championship team. Three of the top seven finishers were on the championship team, so Neubauer moved up from eighth to fifth place and is headed to State.

The State Golf Tournament is a two-day, cumulative score event which is being held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15-16, at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. The golfers play 18 holes each day for a total of 36 holes of golf.

Spectators are welcome to attend and there is no admission charge.

The other members of the USC boys golf team were: Blake Bullerman who shot a 177 (86-91) and tied for 11th place overall; Luke Pederson with 191 (93-98) and tied for 15th; Landan Magnuson also tied for 15th with 181 (94-87); Levi Hinkley at 192 (91-101) for 27th place; and Carter Hart at 203 (101-102) tied for 29th.
