The Big South Conference (BSC) has released the names of the All-Conference teams for the spring sports seasons.

Blue Earth Area had five members of their baseball squad receive post-season honors.

Senior Anders Fering and juniors Logan O’Hara and Anthony Carr were named to the All-Conference team while senior Keegan O’Brien and junior Kean Hicks received honorable mention.

Fering was BEA’s first baseman, while O’Hara and Carr were the team’s leading pitchers. O’Brien and Hicks both played outfield for the Maroon and Gold.

The baseball team finished the season in second place in the small-schools division of the BSC behind Luverne. The Bucs compiled a conference record of 8-4 while ending the season with an overall record of 15-8.

McKenna Dutton was named to the BSC All-Conference team in softball. The senior made the switch from being a pitcher in her sophomore season to playing shortstop in her senior year.

The softball season and all of the other spring sports were canceled in 2020 because of COVID-19.

Fellow senior Miya Gustafson, the team’s catcher, received honorable mention for BEA, which finished the year with an overall record of 2-17.

The boys golf team had four seniors and one sophomore named to the BSC All-Conference squad. Braden Gudahl, Gavin Storbeck, Manning Lane and Max Ehrich were the seniors while Ashton Lloyd was the sophomore.

The boys golf team won the Section 2AA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. Then, they closed out their season by finishing fourth in the State Tournament with Lloyd finishing sixth in the individual competition.

Junior Vern Johnson received All-Conference accolades in boys tennis while playing at the No. 1-singles position for the Bucs.

Fellow junior Nick Frundt and freshman Jerry Passe received honorable mention. Passe was the only freshman from the East Division of the BSC to be awarded post-season honors.

The BEA boys tennis team finished third out of five teams in the East Division of the BSC.
