Cross country teams compete at Montgomery

The Montgomery Golf Club was the site of the Gerry Smith/Titan Invitational cross country meet on Thursday, Sept. 9.

Blue Earth Area was one of 35 teams to participate in the competition.

The BEA girls team ran to a 25th-place finish and was led by Calli Ferguson with a time of 24:58, which put her in 104th place.

Elizabeth Jacobson was the next Buccaneer to cross the finish line. She ran the 5,000 meter course in 28:28 to finish 145th.

Next was Aubrey Hueper in 148th place with a time of 29:25, followed by Leah Becker in 150th place with a time of 29:47.

Lauren Bleess completed the course in 30:55 to finish 152nd. Addison Smith was 156th in 32:05 and Hope Goette was 157th in 33:28.

The BEA junior high girls team finished in seventh place.

Angel Martinez was the top runner for the boys who finished 29th out of 35 teams.

Martinez finished 128th with a time of 20:55. Seth Mathews was the next Buccaneer runner to finish the race with a time of 24:44 and 175th place.

Eli Paz covered the course in 27:11 to put him in 187th place. Jerry Passe’s time of 29:08 was good for 188th place and Shane Levenhagen was right behind in 189th place with a time of 29:31.

The BEA junior high boys team finished in ninth place.
