BEA gymnasts tally 131.6 points
But it is not enough to overcome New Ulm’s score of 136.85

The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team faced New Ulm in a home meet held on Friday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.
Though both teams scored high, New Ulm topped the Buccaneers’ 131.6 score with their score of 136.85.
Buccaneer Addison Armstrong snagged a second place all-around score of 34.6, and Tailor Douglas’s 32.925 all-around score was good for third place. The Bucs’ Haley Kalis scored 32.25 in the all-around.
“We had about as good of a night as we could get, with only a few minor issues to fix,” head coach Rachel Cole reported.
She added, “There were a couple minor injuries, but they (the girls) are okay.”
Cole shared the team continues to perform well on vault and bars.
“Our vault and bars were consistent again,” Cole noted.
Armstrong earned second place on vault with a score of 8.825, and Kalis’s 8.7 secured third place. Buccaneer Adrianna Reddick tallied an 8.625, Douglas earned an 8.575, and Annika Ihle scored an 8.5.
Armstrong also snagged second place on bars with a score of 8.025. Kalis earned a score of 7.725, while Douglas tallied a 7.525 score. Ihle finished with a 7.325, and Buccaneer Jazmyn Lunz earned a 6.4.
Cole shared the team continues to improve on beam.
“We only had to count two falls on beam.” Cole said. “We will be working to clean up routines more and perfect our connections more over the next week.”
Armstrong secured another second place finish with her score of 8.45 on beam. Douglas earned an 8.25 on beam, Buccaneer Lauren Survis earned a 7.575, Kalis tallied a 7.4, and Lunz finished with a 7.25 score.
“As for floor, we had a good night there too, with only one fall,” Cole concluded.
Armstrong pulled off another second place finish on floor with a score of 9.3. Douglas scored an 8.575, Kalis scored an 8.425, and Ihle pulled off an 8.3.
The Bucs’ junior varsity team was bested by New Ulm’s junior varsity team, who scored an 118.25 to the Bucs’ 106 points.
The Bucs’ Lizzy Uecker’s all-around score of 28.75 snagged her the third place junior varsity all-around slot.
The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team faced Jackson County Central High School in another home meet held on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m. Look for the results in next week’s issue of The Faribault County Register.
