The Maple River/United South Central wrestling team won all three of their matches at a quadrangular they hosted on Thursday, Feb. 10.

MR/USC defeated Westfield 46-22, downed Triton 76-6, and overpowered Le Sueur-Henderson 72-3.

MR/USC 46, Westfield 22

After first falling behind, MR/USC used a series of wins in the middle weights to take control of the match and defeat the Westfield Razorbacks 46-22.

Wyatt Walters got MR/USC off on the right foot with a 7-0 decision at 106 pounds.

However, Westfield’s Hunter Simonson defeated Kolt Bullerman by a fall at 113 pounds, and MR/USC’s Braxton Simon lost a 4-2 decision at 120, making the score 9-3 in favor of Westfield.

Ethan Elvebak won by a fall at 126 pounds, as did Boden Simon at 132 pounds and MR/USC went ahead 15-9 and never trailed again.

Byron Getchell lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at 138 pounds, but then MR/USC amassed a string of wins.

Ethan Evenson won by forfeit at 145 pounds, Konner Harpestad won a 5-4 decision at 152, Cooper Ochsendorf won a 13-3 major decision at 160 and Noah Ziegler pinned his opponent at 170.

Laken Ivie lost an 18-4 major decision at 182 pounds, but Collin Van Cleave won by a forfeit at 195 and Thayne Decker won by a fall at 220 pounds. At 285, Colten Berkner lost by a fall, making the final 46-22.

MR/USC 76, Triton 6

MR/USC won nine matches by forfeit and three by falls, plus one by major decision to rack up 76 points against Triton.

Triton’s one win came with a pin in the last match at 285 pounds.

Winning by forfeit were Wyatt Walters at 106 pounds, Kolt Bullerman at 113, Ethan Elvebak at 126, Byron Getchell at 132, Ethan Evenson at 145, Noah Ziegler at 160, Laken Ivie at 182, Collin Van Cleave at 195 and Thayne Decker at 220.

Winning by pins were Braxton Simon at 120 pounds, Boden Simon at 126 and Konner Harpestad at 152.

Cooper Ochsendorf won by a 15-3 major decision at 170 pounds.

MR/USC 72, Le Sueur-Henderson 3

MR/USC got eight wins by falls, plus three by forfeits, on the way to a 72-3 win over Le Sueur-Henderson.

Getting a win by a pin were Wyatt Walters at 106 pounds, Braxton Simon at 120, Ethan Elvebak at 132, Boden Simon at 138, Ethan Evenson at 152, Cooper Ochsendorf at 160, Laken Ivie at 182 and Colten Berkner at 285.

Winning by forfeit were Noah Ziegler at 170 pounds, Collin Van Cleave at 195 and Thayne Decker at 220.

Kolt Bullerman scored an 11-7 decision at 113 pounds, Waylon Simon a 9-5 decision at 126 and Byron Getchell lost a 9-5 decision at 145.
