USC baseball team goes 2-0 for week

Just like they had done the day before, the United South Central Rebels baseball team defeated their opponent by a score of 6-4.

On Tuesday, May 17, the Rebels downed Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain by the same 6-4 score they had defeated New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva by on Monday.

This time the Rebels took a 3-0 lead in the second inning to start off. The Jaguars came back with two runs of their own in the fourth inning to make it close at 3-2.

USC increased their lead by one run in the fifth inning, to make it 4-2. Both teams scored two runs in the sixth, and both were scoreless in the seventh, to make the final 6-4.

The Rebels out hit the Jags 5-2. Zale Bushlack, Taybor Conley, Konner Harpestad, Brendan Drescher and Jon Martinez all had one hit each.

Ethan Elvebak had two RBI and Drescher had one.

Conley pitched six innings and gave up the four runs on two hits, walked three and struck out six batters. Aiden Crabtree came in for one inning and gave up no hits or runs and walked one batter.

T/ML/GHEC used four pitchers who combined to give up the six USC runs on five hits, they walked seven and struck out nine.

USC 6, NRHEG 4

While they were out hit 12-7 by the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers on Monday, May 16, the United South Central Rebels still won the game 6-4.

The Rebels got the lead right away in the first inning, when they scored three runs. In the second inning, the Panthers got back close when they scored two runs of their own.

USC had another three-run inning in the bottom of the fourth, and NRHEG had another two-run inning in the top of the sixth, which made the final 6-4.

Colton Quade led the hitting for USC. He was 2 for 3, with both a double and a triple. He scored two runs and had two RBI.

Nick Bushlack, Jackson Spizzirri, Taybor Conley, Konner Harpestad and Blake Schroeder had the other hits for USC. Harpestad’s hit was a double.

Blake Schroeder pitched six innings and gave up the four runs on 12 hits, gave up two bases on balls and struck out seven.

Zale Bushlack came in for one inning of relief and gave up no hits or runs and walked one batter and struck out one.
