Tracksters move on in post-season
Four relay teams and 18 individuals qualify for Section Tournament

The Class 2A, South Sub-Section Meet was held at Maple River High School on Thursday, May 26.
The Blue Earth Area girls’ team qualified three relay teams and nine individuals for the Section 2A Championship Meet, which was held on Saturday, June 4, at Mankato West High School.
The boys squad had one relay team and nine individuals qualify for the Section Meet.
Look for the results of the Section Meet in next week’s edition of the Faribault County Register.
To qualify for Section, a relay team had to finish in the top four in an event and an individual had to finish in the top eight.
Section qualifiers, girls
BEA’s 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400-meter relay teams all qualified for the Section Meet.
The 4×100-meter relay team finished in third place with a time of 55.20 and consisted of Eloise Blair, Sophie Keister, Kate Armon and Tailor Douglas.
In the 4×200-meter relay, it was Addison Armstrong, Armon, Lauren Bleess and Douglas running the race in 1:55.24 to also finish in third place.
The same group of four girls who qualified for the 4×200 also qualified for the 4×400-meter relay. Their time of 4:32.57 was good for a fourth-place finish.
Lizzy Uecker moved on to Sections with a seventh place finish in the triple jump when she posted a distance of 29-10 1/2.
Blair had a time of 17.37 in the 100-meter high hurdles for a fourth-place finish.
Bleess raced to a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.83
Armstrong completed the 400-meter dash in 64.32 to finish in fifth place.
Chloe Groe qualified in both the shot put and the discus. Her toss of 31-9 1/2 in the shot put her in third place and her throw of 103-11 put her in second place in the discus.
Alicia Machacek soared to a distance of 13-10 1/4 to place sixth in the long jump.
Keister cleared a height of 4-10 in the high jump to place third.
Armstrong had a third-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 9-6.
Section qualifiers, boys
It was the 4×200-meter relay team of Jacob Grandgenett, Aaron Lorenz, Gage Barker and Gabe Torres moving on to Sections with a fourth place finish in 1:37.26.
Bruk Sonnicksen ran the 100-meter dash in 12.23 to take eighth place.
Grandgenett also had an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.51.
The Bucs did very well in the field events, qualifying for Sections in five different categories.
In the shot put, Blake Ripley had a personal best toss of 42-10 1/2 to finish fifth and Luke Norman finished seventh with a mark of 42-9.
The two seniors swapped places in the discus with Norman grabbing fifth place with a throw of 130-9 and Ripley taking seventh with a distance of 125-10.
Austin Stauffer finished second in the high jump when he cleared the bar at 5-8.
Torres was third in the long jump with a distance of 19-1 3/4.
Stauffer also qualified in the triple jump with a mark of 38-4 which put him in fifth place.
