Rebels win duel with Knights 28-14
Move on to Section 2A semifinal game against Lester Prairie
The United South Central Rebels football team avenged an earlier in the season loss, and defeated the Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Knights in the opening round of the Section 2A Football Tournament.
The Rebels had lost to the Knights by a score of 21-18, after having led 12-6 at the half, back on Sept. 12, at USC’s homecoming game.
But, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, the No. 5-seeded Rebels went on the road and downed the No. 4 seeded Knights 28-14.
That propelled the USC Rebels into the next round of the Section playoffs, where they were set to play the No. 1 seed, the Lester Prairie Bulldogs, on Saturday, Oct. 29, in Lester Prairie.
The Rebels had recently lost to the Bulldogs 42-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Details on the game will be in next week’s edition of the Faribault County Register.
