Fairmont 66, BEA 39
The Bucs got off to a good start when they played host to their I-90 rival, the Fairmont Cardinals, on Friday, Jan. 27.
Sophie Keister scored from the inside and guard Lola Lundquist hit a 3-pointer to give the Bucs an early 5-2 lead.
However, the Cards went on an 11-0 run and controlled the rest of the game.
Fairmont would lead by as many as 35 points in the second half which put running time into effect with nine minutes remaining in the contest.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Lundquist and Erika Gaydon cut the Cards’ lead to less than 30 points and restored the clock to regular time stoppages.
Gaydon finished with nine points on the strength of three treys. Keister, who fouled out with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game, tallied eight points, six rebounds and blocked four shots. Kate Armon finished with four points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
