BEA gymnast Addison Armstrong gets a little different view of the world while performing her routine at a recent meet in Blue Earth.

The Buc gymnasts made the long trek to Pipestone High School to face the Arrows on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Blue Earth Area (BEA) booked its second narrow defeat within the space of a week, scoring 126 to Pipestone’s 127.875.

Buc Addison Armstrong finished second in the all-around with a 32.675. Her teammate Addy Olson was just behind her with a 31.975. Tailor Douglas’ all-around score tallied 30.325 and Lauren Survis scored a 28.075.

On vault, the Bucs earned a cumulative 33.9, though none of the girls placed. Armstrong scored an 8.55 and Douglas, Kalis and Olson booked identical scores at 8.45. Survis’ routine earned a 7.8.

BEA scored a 29.5 on bars, with Douglas’ routine earning a 7.575 first place finish. Olson and Armstrong, meanwhile, tied for third with matching 7.45 scores. Haley Kalis scored a 7.025 and Survis scored a 6.15.

On beam, BEA’s team earned a 30.225. Armstrong balanced her way to a second place finish with a 7.85. Kalis scored a 7.6, and Olson was just behind her with a 7.575. Douglas tallied a 7.2 and Survis scored a 6.8.

The Bucs finished floor with a 32.375. Armstrong’s routine took second, scoring 8.825, and Olson’s 8.5 was good for third place. Kyannah Brandt received a 7.725, Survis tallied a 7.325 and Douglas scored a 7.1.

Waseca 128.2, BEA 127

On Thursday, Feb. 2, the BEA gymnasts traveled to Waseca Intermediate School for a meet with the Bluejays.

The Bucs suffered a narrow loss to the Bluejays, scoring 127 to Waseca’s 128.2.

Armstrong took second in the all-around with a 33.75. Her teammates Olson and Douglas scored 31.1 and 30.6 in the all-around, respectively.

BEA landed a solid 34.7 on vault, with Armstrong’s 8.95-scoring vault taking first place. Olson also placed, taking third with an 8.7 score. Kalis earned an 8.6 and Douglas earned an 8.45. Survis’ vault was good for a 7.95.

The Bucs scored 29.85 on bars. Armstrong swung into second with a 7.8 while Douglas took third place with a 7.55. Olson’s routine earned a 7.4 and Reddick earned a 7.1. Kalis finished with a 6.8.

BEA hit the 30.0 benchmark on beam with a 30.15. Armstrong took second place with an 8.05 and Kalis took third with a 7.75. Survis scored a 7.3, Douglas scored a 7.05 and Olson finished with a 6.85.

On floor, the girls’ routines scored a cumulative 32.3. Armstrong booked another second place finish with an 8.95. Olson finished the event with an 8.15 and Brandt’s routine earned a 7.65. Douglas scored a 7.55, and Survis scored a 7.425.

The Bucs’ last regular meet of the season was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9, at Jackson County Central High School.

Their Section Meet is slated for Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. James High School. The State Tournament is scheduled on Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25
