Team suffers losses against Maple River Eagles and Goodhue

A 10-run fourth inning by Goodhue led to an 11-1 loss for the United South Central Rebels baseball team on Tuesday, April 11.

Goodhue had scored one run in the first inning and USC had scored a run in the top of the fourth inning to tie it up, before the 10 run barrage in the bottom of the fourth.

Second baseman Ethan Koehler got the Rebels’ single hit of the game and was credited with a run batted in.

Aiden Crabtree pitched three and two thirds innings and gave up 10 hits, eight runs and walked five and struck out three. Nathaniel Clore came in for a third of an inning and gave up four hits, allowed three runs and did not walk or strike out any batters.

Next up for the Rebels was a game on Thursday, April 13 at Medford.

This week they host Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on Monday, April 17, and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on Thursday, April 20.

Maple River 9, USC 2

The Rebels of United South Central lost 9-2 to the Maple River Eagles on Monday, April 10. The Eagles outhit the Rebels 10-7 in the game.

Maple River had two runs in the first inning, one in the second and two in the third. USC got a run in the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 5-2.

However, the Eagles scored three more runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh on their way to the win.

Nick Bushlack went 2 for 4 at the plate including a double and was credited with an RBI.

Aiden Crabtree, Taybor Conley, Zale Bushlack, Byron Getchell and Kolt Bullerman all had one hit in the game with Bullerman getting an RBI.

Conley was the starting pitcher for the Rebels and went three innings. He allowed five runs on six hits, walked three and struck out four.

Zale Bushlack came in on relief and pitched four innings, giving up four runs on four hits, walking four and striking out three.
