Blue Earth Area seventh grader Kyannah Brandt leaps over the hurdles during the 100-meter high hurdle event at the True Team Track Meet held in Blue Earth on Friday, April 14.

The Blue Earth Area and United South Central track teams were back in action on Tuesday, April 18, at the Maple River True Team Invitational held at Mapleton.

BEA girls results

The BEA girls finished third in a field of eight teams with 102.5 points. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton won the event with 163 points while New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva claimed the runner-up position with 136 points.

Martin County West was fourth with 81.5 points, Maple River took fifth with 71.5, St. Clair finished sixth with 69.5, Minnesota Valley Lutheran came in seventh with 50 and United South Central was eighth with 25.

The Bucs took first place in three events. Addison Armstrong won the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.39. Armstrong also grabbed the top spot in the pole vault with a mark of 10-0.

Chloe Groe had the top throw in the discus at 101-10.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Eloise Blair, Tailor Douglas, Kyannah Brandt and Addison Armstrong raced to a second-place finish with a time of 56.54.

BEA placed third in five events.

Chloe Groe took third in the shot put with a toss of 30-10 and Tailor Douglas was third in the pole vault at a height of 7-06.

In the 100-meter high hurdles, Blair had a time of 18.60 to finish third.

Kate Armon, Douglas, Sidney Eitzmann and Armstrong ran the 4×400-meter relay in 4:41.70 for third place. Eitzmann, Averi Blair, Madie Redepenning, and Aubrey Woodwick completed the 4×800-meter relay in 12:30 to also finish in third place.

Finishing in fourth place were Addison Smith in the high jump at 4-06 and Sarah Dohm in the triple jump with a leap of 28-11.50.

Aubrey Woodwick finished fifth in the 3200-meter run in 14:29.59.

BEA boys results

The host Maple River Eagles ran away with the championship with 175.16 points. NRHEG took second with 114, JWP had 101.33 points for third, MVL was fourth with 96, MCW placed fifth with 84, St. Clair took sixth with 63.5, BEA was seventh with 54 and USC finished eighth with five points.

Jacob Grandgenett was the only Buccaneer to take first place in an event. He won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.46.

Jack Norman finished in second place in the shot put with a distance of 40-08.25.

Austin Skaden had a leap of 17-07 in the long jump to finish in third place.

Also bringing home a third-place finish was the 4×100-meter relay team of Gage Barker, Nick Nelson, Jack Norman and Grandgenett.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Skaden, Austin Stauffer, Will Allis and Nelson had a time of 1:41.76 to finish in fourth place.

Stauffer also took fourth in the high jump when he cleared the bar at a height of 5-06.

USC girls results

The United South Central/Alden-Conger girls and boys track teams participated in the Maple River Invitational Meet on Tuesday, April 18. Both teams ended up in eighth place at the meet.

Madison Passer led the girls with the team’s highest placing, with a third place finish in the high jump, at 4-06. Passer also placed eighth in the 100 meters hurdles with a time of 19.76, a personal best.

Chloe Luttke was fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 81-00, a personal best record for her.

Jaelyn Stangler also placed in the high jump, taking seventh at 4-04.

The girls 4×100 meter relay team of Danyelle Dickson, Carmen Patino, Jaelyn Stangler and Antoinette Dickson took fifth place with a time of 57.42, a personal best record.

The girls 4×200 meter relay team of Danyelle Dickson, Maddie Dallman, Patino and Stangler took sixth place with a personal record best time of 2:04.94.

The girls 4×800 meter relay team of Kayla Thunstedt, Danni Betts, Lindsay Thunstedt and Clare Kruse took sixth place with another personal record time of 13:55.

Emma Johnson took eighth place at the meet in the 1600 meter run with a time of 7:08.74.

BEA True Team Meet

The Blue Earth Area True Team Invitational Track meet began with temperatures in the 80s last Friday, April 14, but by the time the athletes took to the track for the final event of the evening, the 4×400-meter relay, temps had cooled down to the 50s.

Teams from Fairmont, Jackson County Central, Maple River, Martin County West, St. James and United South Central/Alden Conger competed in the meet along with the host school, BEA.

BEA girls results

Fairmont edged JCC for first place in the girls meet with the Cardinals tallying 402 points to 381 for the Huskies. BEA took third place with 317.5, St. James was fourth with 258, MCW finished fifth with 202. 5, Maple River came in sixth with 170 and USC was seventh with 156.

The Bucs had three first-place performances. Addison Armstrong’s time of 63.2 was the fastest in the 400-meter dash and Chloe Groe came out on top in the shot put with a toss of 32-11. Armstrong also placed first among all pole vaulters when she cleared the bar at 10-0.

The Bucs had top-five finishes in a number of events during the meet.

Tailor Douglas finished in second place in the pole vault with a height of 8-0.

Groe had a throw of 98-06.5 in the discus to claim second place.

Taylor Ripley had her best shot put event of the season and took fifth place with a mark of 27-7.

Sarah Dohm was third in the high jump with a mark of 4-6. She placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 29-01.5.

The Buccaneer team of Eloise Blair, Tailor Douglas, Autumn Gordon and Kyannah Brandt crossed the finish line in third place in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 56.7.

Also taking third place was the 4×200-meter relay team of Douglas, Gordon Brandt and Armstrong with a time of 2:00.50.

The 4×800-relay team finished fourth in 11:57.40. Members of the team were Sidney Eitzmann, Averi Blair, Madie Redepenning and Aubrey Woodwick.

BEA’s shuttle relay team of Lauren Survis, Brandt, Makayla Grant and Blair finished in fourth place with a time of 1:24.80.

Aubrey Woodwick had her season-best time of 6:40.03 in the 1600-meter run to finish in second place.

BEA boys results

Fairmont completed a sweep of the track meet when their boys’ team finished on top with 395 points. Maple River had 336 points to finish second. JCC took third with 325, St. James was fourth with 296.5, BEA claimed fifth with 247.5, MCW placed sixth with 226 and USC was seventh with 74.

Although BEA did not have any first-place finishes, they had a number of fine performances.

Gage Barker, Nick Nelson, Jack Norman and Jacob Grandgenett joined forces to take second place in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 46.90.

Kade Gaydon’s time of 47.7 in the 300-meter low hurdles was also good for a second-place finish.

In the 100-meter dash, Grandgenett crossed the finish line in 11.7 to take third place.

Barker, Austin Stauffer, Norman and Grandgenett raced to a fifth-place finish in the 4×400-meter race in 3:48.30.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Austin Skaden, Nelson, Stauffer and Barker finished in fifth place with a time of 1:40.10.

Norman had a toss of 38-08 in the shot put which put him in fourth place.

Stauffer placed second in the high jump when he cleared the bar at 5-8. He also placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 37-02.5.

In the long jump, Skaden had a leap of 17-6 to take fifth place.

USC/AC girls results

“It was nice to have some warm weather this week for the kids to compete,” coach Kara Christianson says. “Although we were not able to compete in several relays, of the kids who did compete, several broke their personal records, which is fun to see.”

The USC girls team had one second place finisher, when Jaelyn Stangler went a personal best 4-8 in the high jump.

Antoinette Dickson took third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.0.

The girls 4×200 meter relay team of A. Dickson, C. Patino, J. Stangler and D. Dickson, took fourth at 2:07.7, a personal best for the team. The 4×100 meter relay team of D. Dickson, K. Stahl, M. Dallman and J. Stangler also set a personal best time of 58.3 and was in fifth place.

Madison Passer took fifth place in the girls high jump with a 4-6 jump.

Chloe Luttke also had a personal best in the discus, with a distance of 76-3 and took sixth place. Emma Johnson was seventh in the 1600 meter run with a personal best time of 7:08.6.

The girls sprint medley relay team of K. Lowman, K. Stahl, M. Roberts and D. Betts came in eighth place with a time of 6:16.3.

Kiera Schultz was eighth in the shot put with a personal best distance of 26-3. Also in eighth place was Antoinette Dickson in the pole vault at 8-0 and Danyelle Dickson in the long jump at 12-7.

Emma Johnson was ninth in the discus at 69-6, Carmen Patino 10th in the 100 meters at 15.0, a personal best, and Elizabeth Meyer was 12th in the shot put at 23-11.

USC/AC boys results

Hayden Chandler led the Rebel boys with a sixth place finish in the discus, getting a distance of 94-5, a personal record. Chandler also took seventh in the 1600 meter run, coming in at 5:39.9. He was 13th in the shot put with a distance of 30-1, a personal record best.

Joshua Brooks took seventh in the pole vault, going 7-0. Brooks also took 10th in the 1600 meters with a personal best time of 6:19.2.

Tristan Obermeyer took eighth place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.6. Obermeyer also took 11th in the high jump with a 4-6 jump.

Henry Beaver was 11th in the shot put with a distance of 32-8, and he was 13th in the discus with a distance of 71-10, a personal record.

Caleb Whiteside was 13th in the 100 meter dash with a personal record best of 13.5, and Aiden Rath was 14th at 14.5.
