Lightning caused an early end to the Big South Conference East Division meet for girls held on Monday, May 8, at Blue Earth.

Since not every player was able to complete all 18 holes, the BSC coaches made the decision to use the first nine holes of the meet to determine the outcome.

Fairmont captured first place with a team total of 178. The host Blue Earth Area Buccaneers finished second with 187. St. Peter nabbed the third-place slot with a score of 197, Waseca was fourth with 222, New Ulm took fifth with 231 while Jackson County Central did not have a complete team.

BEA’s Katelyn Storbeck and St. Peter’s Adrianna Bixby each scored a 40 to tie for medalist honors.

Storbeck ended her round with six pars.

Payten Gudahl had two pars and finished with a 46, Madison Ehrich had a 47 with one par and Rylan Storbeck completed BEA’s scoring with three pars and a 54.

The Bucs will be back in action on Monday, May 15, when they compete in the Big South Conference Tournament at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club which is near Morton.
