USC boys tie for first in quadrangular meet

The United South Central boys golf team ended up in a tie for first place at a quadrangular meet held at Riverview Golf Course in New Richland on Tuesday, May 16.

The Rebels shot a team score of 166, and so did the team from Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

Blooming Prairie was close behind with their score of 170, good for third place. Host New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva had an incomplete team score.

There was a three-way tie for medalist at the meet. USC’s Kaydyn Neubauer shot a 39, as did Steve Dimmel of JWP and Carter Miller of JWP.

The Rebels’ Blake Bullerman and Carter Hart both shot 42 and tied for seventh place. Brennan Anderson was right behind them with a 43, which put him in a tie for ninth place.

USC’s other two varsity golfers were Brennan Olson who carded a 49 and tied for 13th, and Mason Schrader with a 50 and in 15th place out of 21 golfers.

The Rebel boys now have a season record of 28-7-1.

USC Girls Golf Results

The USC girls golf team also competed at New Richland and came in third with a score of 257.

NRHEG took first place with a score of 220, and Blooming Prairie was second at 248. JWP had an incomplete team score.

Emma Heggen led USC with a score of 52, good for second place out of the 14 golfers.

Paige Roberts shot a 64 and was tied for ninth, Karly Koehler carded a 67 and was tied for 11th and Eva Hernandez shot 74 for 14th place.

The meet medalist was Meela Budach of NRHEG who shot a score of 50.

Invitational at Waseca

The United South Central boys golf team took third in a seven team tournament held on Monday, May 15, at the Lakeside Golf Course in Waseca.

The Rebels shot a team total score of 345 for their third place finish.

Triton shot 325 for first place and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton came in at 337 for second place.

Blooming Prairie was at 347, two strokes behind USC, to claim fourth, Hayfield had 368 for fifth, St. Peter was at 381 for sixth and Maple River had 426 for seventh.

Medalist was Steve Dimmel of JWP who shot a 76.

Kadyn Neubauer led the Rebels with a score of 81, which put him in sixth place out of the 39 golfers.

Blake Bullerman had an 84 to tie for 12th place, Carter Hart carded an 89 for 17th place, and Brennan Anderson shot 91 for 19th place, to complete USC’s team score.

Brennan Olson came in tied at 23rd with a 96 and Jorge Martinez shot 103 for 29th place.

The Rebel boys now have a season record of 26-7.

USC Girls Golf Results

The USC girls golf team had an incomplete score at the meet in Waseca on Monday, May 15. So did Triton, JWP and Maple River.

Emma Heggen led the Rebels with a score of 107, good for 10th place out of 22 golfers.

Paige Roberts scored 139 for 20th place and Eva Hernandez carded a 145 for 22nd place.

Hayfield took first place with a 431, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva was second with 443 and Blooming Prairie was third with a team score of 457.

The medalist was Tessa Tushaus of Triton with a score of 96.
