Eight USC/AC girls qualify for Section

Many boys set personal-best records in their final competition

Eight girls from the United South Central/Alden-Conger track team placed high enough in the Sub-Section Track Meet, held on Thursday, May 25, in Maple River, to advance to the Section Track Meet.

The Section Meet was set to be held on Saturday, June 3 at Mankato West High School.

The eight Rebel girls are:

Danyelle Dickson who placed fourth in the 400-meter with a personal record best time of 1:06.62.

Kiera Schultz who placed fourth in the shot put, with a personal best distance of 31-06.75.

Alexis Guenther who placed sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:56.40.

Madison Passer who was in sixth place in the high jump with a height of 4-08.

Sydney Sauke who was seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 29-09.00.

Jaelyn Stangler who was eighth in the high jump with a height of 4-08.

Chloe Lutteke who was eighth in the discus with a distance of 91-00.

Chloe Bullerman in the 300-meter hurdles who had a personal best record time of 54.49 and was in eighth place and advances to Sections.

Other Rebel track girls who set personal best records at the Sub-Section Track Meet included: Sydney Sauke in the 100-meter hurdles, Emma Johnson in the 1600-meter run, Clare Kruse in the 400-meter, Alyssa Samudio in the 800-meter, Jaelyn Stangler in the 200-meter, Emily Cassens in the discus, Chloe Lutteke and Elizabeth Meyer in the shot put.

No Rebel boys advanced to the Section Meet, but a few did set personal best records in the Sub-Section. They are:

Isaac Hartman in 100-meter hurdles, Joshua Brooks in the 1600-meter run, Hartman and Jayden Barnick in the 300-meter hurdles, Caleb Whiteside in the 200-meter, Hartman in the triple jump, Ezra Edwards and Henry Beaver in the discus and Beaver, Hayden Chandler and Edwards in the shot put.

“Coaches are very proud of the progress that the athletes have made over the course of the season,” coach Kara Christianson said. “Many personal records were repeatedly broken, and we look forward to many returning track and field athletes next year.”
