It’s post-season time for track team
Three relay teams and 14 individuals to compete at Section Meet

The Section 2A South Sub-Section Track Meet was held on Thursday, May 25, to determine which athletes would qualify to compete in the Section 2A Championship Meet held at Mankato West High School on Saturday, June 3.
The Blue Earth Area girls qualified in one relay and eight individual events while the boys qualified in two relays and six individual events.
Girls Results
Addison Armstrong finished in first place in two separate individual events.
She cleared the bar in the pole vault at 10-09 to take first place. It was Armstrong’s personal best vault ever in competition.
Armstrong also showed her talent on the track with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 63.23.
Armstrong was not the only Buccaneer to qualify in the pole vault and 400-meter dash.
Tailor Douglas also qualified in the pole vault with a sixth-place finish. Douglas cleared the bar at 7-06.
In the 400-meter dash, Natalie Schiltz posted a personal-best time of 67.75 to take fifth place and earn a spot in the Section Meet.
Armstrong was also a member of the 4×200-meter relay team that qualified for Sections with a second-place time of 54.78. Other girls on the relay team were Eloise Blair, Kate Armon and Kyannah Brandt.
Blair will also be making a return trip to the Section 2A meet in the 100-meter high hurdles. The defending Section champion, Blair finished in fifth place with a time of 18.16.
Chloe Groe qualified in two field events. Her toss of 35-03.75 in the shot put gave her a second place finish and moved her into sixth place on the Buc Honor Roll.
Groe also qualified in the discus event with a throw of 99-11 which put her in fourth place.
In the distance running events, Aubrey Woodwick turned in a personal best time of 13:36.72 in the 3200-meter run to finish seventh and qualify for Sections.
Boys Results
Season-best times by the 4×100 and 4×200-meter relay teams enabled both teams to qualify to compete at the Section 2A meet.
Nick Nelson, Gage Barker, Jack Norman and Jacob Grandgenett ran the 4×100-meter relay in 45.07 to finish third and earn a place at Sections.
The same set of boys also moved on in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:34.51 to finish third.
Grandgenett also qualified as an individual in the 200-meter dash where he finished in third place with a time of 23.66.
Cory Kitchell’s time of 19.50 in the 110-meter high hurdles was good for eighth place and the final qualifying spot for the Section 2A meet.
Two Bucs each qualified for two different field events.
Jack Norman finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 42-01 and eighth in the discus with a distance of 118-08 to move on to the Section meet.
Austin Stauffer qualified for the Section Meet in both the long jump and triple jump.
In the long jump, Stauffer finished in sixth place with a leap of 18-08.5.
Stauffer covered a distance of 38-01.75 in the triple jump to take eighth place and earn a spot at Sections.
