BEA tames the Huskies in gymnastics
Armstrong headed to State after Section 2A meet held Feb. 15

The Bucs made a bid for State at the Section 2A meet held on Thursday, Feb. 15, finishing in seventh place with a 129.85.
Addison Armstrong led the way with a beam routine worthy of first place and a 9.225. She also captured an Individual State bid on floor, where she placed sixth with a 9.125. She will compete at the Class A Individual State Meet in St. Paul on Feb. 24.
BEA 131.2, JCC 126.5
BEA hosted its last meet of the season against Jackson County Central on Thursday, Feb. 8. The Bucs trounced the Huskies, posting a 131.2 to Jackson County Central’s 126.5.
BEA was outstanding on floor, ending the event with a cumulative 35.25. Addison Armstrong’s routine garnered a 9.375, and first place, and Addy Olson took second place with a 9.1.
Bucs Kyannah Brandt and Kailey Boettcher earned an 8.525 and an 8.25, respectively, and Lauren Survis scored a 7.775.
BEA also booked a high score on vault – a 34.55. Armstrong took first place with a 9.075, and Tailor Douglas secured second with an 8.75. Olson’s leap landed her an 8.575, and Lizzy Uecker and Survis earned matching 8.15s.
The Bucs swung a 30.65 on bars, with Armstrong earning an 8.15, and first place. Second and third place went to Douglas and Olson, whose routines scored a 7.6 and a 7.55. Natalie Griffey tallied a 7.35, and Survis tallied a 7.25.
BEA also broke 30.0 on beam with a 30.75. Armstrong completed her first-place sweep with another top score of 8.7. Douglas’s routine came in second with an 8.5. Boettcher earned a 6.9, and Olson earned a 6.65. Survis scored a 6.45.
Armstrong’s four first place finishes added up to a 35.3 and a first place finish in the all-around. Olson finished the meet with a 31.875 all-around score, and Survis earned a 29.625 in the all-around.
