USC boys defeat BEA in golf at Elmore
Buc girls shoot under 200 while Rebels had an incomplete team

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers and the United South Central Rebels boys and girls teams squared off on the Minn-Iowa Golf Course on April 4.
It was the first meet of the year for both schools.
Boys Results
The USC boys triumphed over BEA by an 18-stroke margin, 164-182.
The Rebels were led by Blake Bullerman who claimed medalist honors with a one under par round of 35.
Bullerman’s round included two birdies and six pars.
Kadyn Neubauer had the second lowest score for the Rebels with a 39. He had two birdies and four pars.
Shooting a 43 for the Rebels was Brennan Olson. He recorded four pars during his round.
Completing the scoring for USC was Brennan Anderson. He shot a 47 and had one par.
The Bucs were led by Eli Blagg who finished the day with a 42.
Blagg carded three pars and ended up with the third lowest score overall.
Finishing second for BEA and fifth overall was Max Loge with a score of 46.
Loge had one birdie and one par for the day.
The Bucs had three golfers tie for sixth place with rounds of 47. They were Manny Granillo, Hunter Viland and Cooper Peterson.
Granillo recorded one par while Viland and Peterson each tallied two pars.
BEA’s next opponent is Martin County West on Tuesday, April 9. The two teams will tee off at the Fox Lake Golf Course near Sherburn.
Girls Results
The Blue Earth Area girls had a team score of 196 in their first competition of the year. Unfortunately, their opponent, United South Central, was unable to field a complete team.
The Bucs were led by Katelyn Storbeck who was the medalist for the meet with a score of 42.
Storbeck parred five consecutive holes beginning with hole No. 3.
Placing second for the girls was BEA’s Payten Gudahl with a round of 43.
Gudahl’s round included four pars.
Rylan Storbeck had the third lowest score for the Bucs and the fourth lowest total overall with a 52.
“Katelyn and Payten played well today,” BEA girls coach Al Cue said. “Rylan hit the ball well, but had a tough day putting. We broke 200 right away in our first meet, so that’s a good start.”
McKinley Hanson finished fifth in the meet with a 59 and Madison Ehrich was sixth with a 68.
USC’s Emma Heggen was the lone Rebel golfer reporting a score.
Heggen finished with a round of 51 to place third overall.
“As a team, we had a decent first meet,” Cue said. “USC was an incomplete team today.”
