United South Central’s star pitcher, Mariah Anderson, threw another no hitter when the Rebels faced the Martin County West Mavericks on Monday, April 15.

But, Mavericks’ pitcher Maddie Carlson was matching Anderson through the first five innings.

With both teams scoreless through the first five innings, and the Mavericks unable to score in the top of the sixth, the Rebels scored three runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead.

Anderson held MCW hitless in the top of the seventh inning, and the game was over.

Anderson had a perfect slate on the score sheet, with no hits, no runs, no errors, no walks and 13 strikeouts.

The Mavericks’ Carlson issued one walk and had 11 strikeouts.

Kendal Harpestad and Olivia Bungum were the two Rebels to get a hit in the game. Anderson, Harpestad and Taylor Schroeder scored the runs, after Schroeder had gained first base on a walk.
