United South Central’s Marcus Haugh (6) touches home plate to score a run for the Rebels at Thompson Field in Wells. USC won one game last week against Alden Conger/Glenville- Emmons. They dropped two games during the week, one to LCWM and the other to NRHEG.

The United South Central Rebels baseball team struggled when they took on the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights on Monday, April 15, in Lake Crystal.

LCWM downed USC by a score of 14-0. The Knights had nine hits to the Rebels’ three.

LCWM scored six runs in the first inning, and four each in the second and fourth innings.

Seth Kayser had two of the Rebels’ hits, and Aiden Crabtree had the other one.

Jonathan Stanke pitched two-thirds of an inning and took the loss. He gave up four runs on one hit and two walks.

Riley Stevermer came in and pitched two and one third innings and gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks. He also struck out two batters.

Mitch Meyer came in for one inning and allowed four runs, no hits and walked three batters.

Next up for the Rebels was a game scheduled for Thursday, April 18, when they were set to host Randolph. The next day, Friday, April 19, they were set to host Goodhue.

This week they are scheduled to play at Triton on Monday, April 22, and on Thursday, April 25 against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.

USC 13, AC/GE 3

The United South Central Rebels baseball team outhit Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons 10-6 on their way to a big 13-3 win on Friday, April 12.

Both teams committed four errors, but the Rebels were aided by the fact that they had eight batters reach base on walks, while the Rebel pitchers issued no walks. USC also had 15 stolen bases during the game.

Aiden Crabtree, Seth Kayser, Avery Crawford and Kolt Bullerman all had two hits each in the game. Kade Wigern and Zayden Schott both had one hit.

Crabtree pitched four innings and gave up one run on three hits, struck out six and gave up no walks. Mitch Meyer pitched one inning and gave up two runs on three hits, struck out two and walked none.

The Rebels got off to a fast start and scored nine runs in the top of the first inning. They added three more in the second inning and one more in the third.

AC/GE had one run in the first inning and two more in the fifth inning.

NRHEG 13, USC 3

The United South Central Rebels baseball team got outhit 12-4 and outscored 13-3 when they played the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Cardinals on Thursday, April 11.

Both teams were scoreless after the first two innings, but the Cards scored three in the third and another in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

The Rebels came back in the top of the fifth to finally score some runs and they cut the lead to one, at 4-3.

But, in the bottom of the fifth, NRHEG exploded for nine runs and took the 13-3 victory.

Seth Kayser had two hits in the game and Mason Haugh and Byron Getchell had one hit each.

Riley Stevermer pitched three and a third innings and gave up four runs on four hits, walked two and struck out three.

Zayden Schott came in for two thirds of an inning and gave up eight runs on six hits, walked one and struck out one. Mitch Meyer came in for one-third of an inning and gave up one run on two hits, had no walks and one strike out.
