USC boys win tourney
The United South Central boys golf team took first place – by 15 strokes – in a four team invitational at the Springfield Golf Club on Friday, April 12.
The Rebels had a team score of 168. In second place was host Springfield with 183, third place was Sleepy Eye United with 187 and in fourth was Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart with 250.
Medalist was USC’s Kadyn Neubauer who shot a one-under-par 35. It was the second time Neubauer had been the medalist at a meet.
Blake Bullerman was in second place with a score of 40. Brennan Anderson shot a 45 for fifth place.
The Rebels’ fourth team score was a 48, which was shot by both Brennan Olson and Jonathan Stanke, who tied for 11th place at the meet. The other Rebel varsity score was a 50 carded by Mason Schrader who was in 17th place.
The first place finish puts the Rebels’ boys record at 5-0.
USC Girls Team Results
The United South Central girls golf team also competed at Springfield, and came in with an incomplete score.
The Rebels’ individual scores were Emma Heggen with a 51, good for third place, Eva Hernandez with a 72 for 11th place and Karly Koehler with an 81 for a 12th place finish.
Sleepy Eye United won the meet with a team score of 215. Springfield and Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart also had incomplete team scores.
Both the boys and girls golf teams were scheduled to have a meet on Tuesday, April 16, in Madelia with Madelia, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial and Mountain Lake.
