BEA boys shut out Worthington 7-0 in tennis

The Blue Earth Area boys tennis team booked another 7-0 victory over the Worthington Trojans on Tuesday, April 23.

Joe Frundt represented the Bucs against Ian Barber at No. 1 singles. The pair fought a contentious match, with Frundt taking the first set, 6-2, and Barber turning the tables to win the second set, 6-2. A lengthy third set eventually went to Frundt, 10-6.

BEA’s Jamie Johnson played Dylan Dykstra at No. 2 singles for a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Brady Lorenz was similarly successful at No. 3 singles, defeating Worthington’s Bennett Oberton 6-2, 6-2.

Ryder Dutton rounded out the Bucs’ singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Kaui Blay at the No. 4 slot.

Devin Haase and Gustavo Chavero paired up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles against Trojans SoeNay Htuo and Diego Ramos Loza.

Bucs Seth Stevermer and Mitchell Stevermer were also victorious at No. 2 doubles when they defeated Alex Martinez and Moises Segura, 6-0, 6-4.

Noah Hanson and Seth Mathews completed BEA’s 7-0 sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Quin Mathis and Xander Barber at No. 3 doubles.

The Bucs had been scheduled to play Litchfield on Friday, April 19, but the match was rescheduled to Thursday, May 2.

They were set to face Pipestone Area on Friday, April 26. Next week, they have a match against St. Peter on Tuesday, April 30, and another match against New Ulm on Friday, May 3.
