The United South Central boys golf team suffered their first loss of the season when they traveled to Waseca to take on the Bluejays on Tuesday, April 23.

The Rebels lost 165 to 171. Their record now stands at 7-1.

USC’s Kadyn Neubauer was the medalist at the meet, despite the USC team losing. He shot a one-under par 35 to take first place and claim his fourth medalist honors of the season.

The next three Rebel team scorers were all close to each other. Brennan Olson shot a 44 and was in fifth place, Brennan Anderson scored a 45 and was tied for sixth place and Blake Bullerman carded a 47 and was in ninth place.

The other two varsity golfers were Mason Schrader who shot a 50 and was in 11th place, and Jonathan Stanke who had a 53 and was in 12th place.

The Rebels boys and girls teams’ next golf meet was scheduled to be on Thursday, April 25, at Riverside Town and Country Club near Blue Earth, facing off against Maple River.

This week they will host Maple River and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on Thursday, May 2, at Oakview Golf Course.

USC Girls Results

The United South Central girls had a full team when they played against the Waseca Bluejays.

The girls lost to Waseca by a score of 219 to 247.

Emma Heggen led the team, scoring a 52 which was good for second place.

Eva Hernandez, who scored her first par of the season and came in with a 57, was in a tie for fourth place. Angelica Hernandez got her first bogey and had a score of 68 and was in a tie for eighth place. Madi Meyer was in 10th place with a 70 and that completed the team score of 247.

Karly Koehler was the other Rebel varsity golfer and she shot a 73 and was in 12th place.

The meet medalist was Emma Keith of Waseca with a score of 46.

The USC girls now have an 0-2 record for the season.

USC vs. Blooming Prairie

The United South Central boys golf team cruised to a win when they went to the Blooming Prairie Country Club on Thursday, April 18.

The Rebels had a team score of 168 to claim first place. Host Blooming Prairie was second with a team tally of 183 and Triton was right behind in third with a 187.

In first place was USC’s Kadyn Neubauer who shot an even par 36 to gain medalist honors. It was the third time this season he was medalist at an event.

Rebel Blake Bullerman was in second place with a score of 40. Jonathan Stanke shot a 45 which was good for seventh place and Brennan Anderson carded a 47 for ninth place and the fourth team score.

The other two USC varsity golfers were Brennan Olson who shot a 49 for 11th place and Mason Schrader who came in with a 53 and 14th place.

The Rebels now sport a 7-0 season record.

USC Girls Golf Results

The United South Central girls team also participated in the meet at Blooming Prairie.

All three girls teams, USC, Blooming Prairie and Triton, had incomplete team scores.

Tessa Tushaus of Triton was medalist with a score of 49.

USC’s Emma Heggen shot a 53 and was in third place, while Madi Meyer came in with a 70 and was in seventh place.

Rebels Eva Hernandez and Karly Koehler were unable to play due to illness.

Both the Rebels’ girls and boys golf teams were scheduled to play next this past Tuesday, April 23, in Waseca.

USC and Maple River were scheduled to play at Riverside Town and Country Club on April 25.
