BEA and USC compete at Lake Crystal

Inclement weather halted the competition before meet was complete

Inclement weather brought an early end to the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet Invitational Track Meet held in Lake Crystal on Tuesday, April 30. Because of the rain and accompanying storms, not all of the events were held and not all of the participants were able to compete in the field events.

There were five teams competing in the meet. LCWM/N won the girls’ meet with 85 points followed by United South Central/Alden-Conger with 59 points. Blue Earth Area came in third with 36 points, St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran was fourth with 28 and Madelia/Truman/Granada-Huntley-EastChain/Martin Luther was fifth with 18 points.

LCWM/N was also the victor in the boys’ meet. Their 77 points topped the final standings ahead of second place St. Clair/IL who had 39 points. USC/AC was third with 33 points, M/T/GHEC/ML was fourth with 31 and BEA was fifth with 26.

BEA Girls Results

Addison Armstrong had her best outing of the season in the pole vault with a first-place mark of 10-03. Coming in second was her teammate Tailor Douglas with a height of 7-09.

Rayne Schuster finished second in the long jump with a distance of 12-04. Sidney Eitzmann was fourth at 12-00 and Lauren Survis finished fifth at 11-09.

The triple jump saw Sarah Dohm capture fifth place with a mark of 12-11.

Also, in the field events, Taylor Ripley finished third in the shot put with a toss of 29-10.5.

In the running events, Kyannah Brandt crossed the finish line in 14.51 in the 100-meter dash to finish in sixth place.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Grace Schavey, Ruby Allis, Ellaina Moore and Addison Smith ran to a third place finish with a time of 58.61. Another BEA team comprised of Ada Ziegler, Reese Olson, Taylynn Amundson and Aaliyah Worden took sixth place with a time of 62.14.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Brandt, Kate Armon, Eitzmann and Douglas had a time of 2:01.35 to finish in third place.

BEA Boys Results

Gage Barker, Caden Juba, Tristan Hanson and Jacob Grandgenett joined forces to take first place in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:38.18.

Marcus Eckles brought home a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.06.

Chase Gambell was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 38-09.

Branson Hauskins placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5-05.

Eckles was third in the long jump with a mark of 17-08, Gage Barker was fifth at 17-06 and Caden Juba was sixth at 17-05.

The BEA track teams were scheduled to compete in Fairmont on Friday, May 3. They will travel to Wells on Tuesday, May 7, to take part in the Section 2A True Team Track Meet which is being hosted by United South Central Schools.

USC/AC Girls Results

Madison Passer had her best race of the season in the 100-meter hurdles and ended up in first place with a time of 18:53. Sydney Sauke took third place in the event with a time of 19.19, Chloe Bullerman was fourth in 19.29 and McKenzie Roberts was fifth in 19.83.

In the 1600-meter run, Alexis Guenther had a time of 5:59.37 to finish in third place.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Becca Kruse, Kiera Schultz, Jaelyn Stangler and Tatum Stangler ran to a fourth-place finish in 59.81.

In the 4×200-meter relay, Mikaylee Roth, Aliza Nietzel, Jaelyn Stangler and Maddie Dallman had a time of 2:10.51 to finish in fifth place.

Clare Kruse, Emma Johnson, Hannah Warmka and Alexis Guenther placed second in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 12:16.36.

Two USC/AC girls captured the top two spots in the shot put. Winning the event with a heave of 32-02.5 was Kiera Schultz. Placing second was Chloe Lutteke with a distance of 29-11.5.

Lutteke was second in the discus with a toss of 95-07 while Elizabeth Meyer was fourth with a distance of 81-06.

Passer was second in the triple jump with a leap of 30-03.75. Sauke finished in third place with a mark of 29-05.5.

USC/AC Boys Results

Brant Blosser navigated the 110-meter hurdles in 15.75 to take first place while teammate Isaac Hartman placed fourth in 19.86.

Caleb Whiteside, Aidan Rath, Joshua Brooks and Jaiden Aranda ran the 4×200-meter relay in 1:52.27 to finish in sixth place.

Jayden Barnick won the high jump event when he cleared the bar at a height of 5-08. Blosser placed sixth with a mark of 4-11.

Angel Dejesus was second in the long jump with a leap of 18-04.

Alexis Arguijo placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 35-09 and Hartman was fifth with a mark of 33-10.5.

Henry Beaver placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 38-05.

Ezra Edwards was fourth in the discus with a toss of 117-03.

The USC/AC track teams will compete in the Section 2A True Team Track Meet on May 7, in Wells.
