Rebel girls win golf meet at Riverside
Boys place second behind Janesville-Waldorf Pemberton
The United South Central boys golf team was without one of their top varsity golfers, Kayden Neubauer in a match on Thursday, April 25, and the team lost to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, but defeated Maple River.
JWP won the meet with a team score of 157, while the USC Rebels had a score of 180 and host Maple River tallied 216.
The meet was held at the Riverside Town and Country Golf Club north of Blue Earth.
USC’s Blake Bullerman took second place in the meet with a 38, just one stroke away from medalist Logan Thell of JWP who shot a one-over par 37.
USC’s Brennan Olson was in sixth place with a 43, while teammate Brennan Anderson carded a 48 for eighth place.
Mason Schrader and Jonathan Stanke tied for ninth place with identical scores of 51. The Rebels’ other varsity golfer, Aaron Johnson, shot a 63 for 18th place.
The USC boys’ team now has a record of 8-2 for the season. Their next meet was scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 2, at Oak View Golf Course, against Maple River and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.
USC Girls Golf Results
The United South Central girls golf team also played at Riverside on Thursday, April 25, against Maple River and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
The Rebels won the meet with a team score of 247. Both Maple River and JWP had incomplete team scores.
USC’s Emma Heggen was in second place with a score of 47, two strokes more than Becca Walters of Maple River who carded a 45, and was the meet medalist.
Eva Hernandez was in fourth place with a score of 56, and Angelica Hernandez was in seventh place with a 66, with Karly Koehler carding a 68 for eighth place.
Other varsity golfers were Madi Meyer with a 69 and ninth place and Emma Van Bourgonje with a 79.
The girls’ next meet was set for Thursday, May 2, at Oak View Golf Club against Maple River and NRHEG.
The Rebels will compete in their conference meet on May 9 at North Links Golf Course in Mankato.
