After Rebels suffer a tough 1-0 loss to the St. Clair Cyclones

United South Central’s Riley Stevermer threw a complete game no-hitter on Monday, May 6, on the way to a big 10-0 victory over the Medford Tigers.

The Rebels scored one run in the third inning and two more in the fourth before exploding for seven runs in the fifth. That ended the game due to the 10 run rule.

USC had nine hits in the game. Aiden Crabtree led the way going 3 for 4 at the plate and having two RBI. Seth Kayser went 2 for 4 with three RBI.

Avery Crawford was 2 for 3 and had an RBI. Drew Bullerman and Kolt Bullerman had one hit each in the game.

Crabtree, Kayser and Bullerman all had a double in the game. Crabtree and Kayser also each had two stolen bases, while Crawford had one. USC left six runners on base, Medford just one.

Stevermer’s pitching numbers against the Tigers were no hits, no runs, one walk and six strikeouts.

St. Clair 1, USC 0

The United South Central baseball team lost a heartbreaker when they played the St. Clair Cyclones on Friday, May 3.

Both teams were scoreless at the end of seven innings and the game went into extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning St. Clair scored one run and the Rebels were unable to score a run in their half of the eighth – resulting in a one run loss.

The Rebels outhit the Cyclones 4-3, and St. Clair committed three errors to USC’s one. But the stat that matters most, the score, favored the Cyclones.

The Rebels had their chances, but unfortunately they left 10 runners on base during the game, compared to the Cyclones’ five.

Mason Haugh led the team at the plate with two hits. Kolt Bullerman and Drew Bullerman had the other two hits in the game.

Aiden Crabtree went all eight innings for the Rebels, giving up the one run on three hits. He walked two batters and struck out seven.
