United South Central’s Emma Heggen watches a putt roll towards the hole on the sixth green at Riverside Town and Country Club in Blue Earth when the Rebels played at the course at the end of April. Heggen had led the USC girls all season and is preparing for postseason play.

The United South Central Rebel boys golf team had a dominating match when they hosted the teams from Maple River and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva at the Oakview Golf Course near Freeborn.

The USC boys won by 44 strokes over the other two teams. The Rebels had a team score of 160 for first place, while Maple River had a score of 204 and NRHEG tallied a 228.

The Rebels grabbed the top four lowest scores, including having Kadyn Neubauer in first place, shooting an even par 36 to capture his fifth medalist honors of the season.

Brennan Anderson shot a 38 and took second place, Blake Bullerman carded a 42 for third place and Jonathan Stanke shot a 45 for fourth place.

The Rebels’ other two varsity golfers were Mason Schrader with a 46 for sixth place and Brennan Olson with a 47 for seventh place.

The USC boys now have a 10-2 season record.

Next up for both the boys and girls Rebel golfers was the Gopher Conference Tournament at North Links against all the Gopher Conference teams on Thursday, May 9.

USC Girls Team Results

The USC girls golf team placed second behind New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva by just three strokes on Thursday, May 2.

NRHEG had a team score of 235 to take first place, while USC shot a 238 for second place.

Maple River had an incomplete team score in the meet held at the Oakview Golf Course near Freeborn.

However, Maple River’s Becca Walters shot a 46 and gained medalist honors.

Emma Heggen led the Rebels with a score of 48, which was good for third place.

Eva Hernandez was in sixth place with a score of 57. Emma Van Bourgonje shot a 66 for eighth place and Angelica Hernandez was a stroke behind with a 67 and in ninth place.

The other two USC varsity golfers were Karly Koehler with a 70 and in 11th place and Madi Meyer with a 78 and 14th place.
