The Waterville-Elysian-Morristown catcher can only watch as BEA’s Taylor Klabunde (7) makes solid contact with the softball and lines a double to right field. BEA defeated WEM 5-4 in eight innings on Monday, May 6.

The United South Central softball team shut down the Medford Tigers on Tuesday, May 14, with a final score of 4-0.

In the game played at home, the Rebels scored one run in the third inning, two in the fourth and one more in the fifth.

USC outhit Medford by just one, 5 to 4. Mariah Anderson led the team with two hits, one of which was a home run. Olivia Bungum, Taylor Schroeder and Alivia Bruegger had the other hits.

Anderson also pitched all seven innings, giving up no runs on four hits, walked one batter and struck out 15 Tigers.

Medford left five runners on base and USC just three.

Next up for the Rebels was a game scheduled for Thursday, May 16, at Kenyon-Wanamingo. Details on that game will be in the next edition of the Faribault County Register.
