Both the United South Central boys and girls golf teams competed in the second round of the Gopher Conference Tournament on Monday, May 13, at the Austin Country Club.

After completing this second round of the three round tournament, the USC boys are in second place with a combined two-day team total of 345-346-691.

The USC girls team is in fifth place with a two-day team total of 476-512-988.

The third and final 18-hole event is scheduled for this week on Thursday, May 23, at the Lakeside Golf Course in Waseca.

USC Boys Golf Results

While the USC boys team is in second place, the Rebels’ Kadyn Neubauer is now in a tie for first place with Steven Dimmel of Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

Both golfers have had identical rounds at both the first and second events of the tourney – 72-80-152.

In eighth place among all the golfers is USC’s Blake Bullerman with scores of 85-87-172. Brennan Olson scored a 92-90-182 and is in a tie for 12th place. Brennan Anderson is in 20th place with his score of 97-88-185.

USC’s other two varsity golfers are Jon Stanke in 21st place with scores of 98-95-193, and Mason Schrader with 109-103-212 and in 34th place.

JWP leads after the second round of the three round event. They had a team tally of 319-330-649.

In third place are Blooming Prairie and Triton with the same scores of 717. Fifth place is Kenyon-Wanamingo with 776, Hayfield sixth at 810, Randolph has 836 for seventh place, Maple River eighth with 868 and NRHEG ninth with 909.

While the next round is on Thursday, both the USC boys and girls teams will be playing on the Waseca Lakeside Golf Course in the Panther Invitational on Monday, May 20.

USC Girls Golf Results

While the USC girls team is in fifth place, their lead golfer, Emma Heggen, is in fourth place after two days of the three day Gopher Conference Tournament.

Heggen shot identical 18-hole scores of 95 on both days, for a two-day total of 190. Lydia Flotterud of Kenyon-Wanamingo is in first place after two days with a score of 84-94-178.

The Rebels’ team scores include Eva Hernandez in 19th place with a score of 122-114-236, Emma Van Bourgonje in 22nd place with a 117-145-262, and Angelica Hernandez in 26th place with a 143-158-301.

USC’s other two varsity players are right behind in scoring. Karly Koehler is in 27th place with 147-161-308, and Madi Meyer is in 28th place with a 142-182-324.

Hayfield is in the lead after two days of the three day conference tourney. They have a team score of 392-423-815. In second place is Blooming Prairie with 878, third is Maple River with 914, NRHEG fourth with 947, and USC fifth with 988.

JWP, Kenyon-Wanamingo and Triton all had incomplete team scores and Randolph had no team scores.

Gopher Conference

Day One

The United South Central boys golf team was in second after the first day of the Gopher Conference Tournament that was held on Thursday, May 9, at the North Links Golf Course.

The USC girls golf team was in fourth place after the first day of the Conference Tournament.

The boys team shot a team score of 346 for second, behind first place Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton who carded a 319.

Triton was in third with 358, Blooming Prairie fourth at 373, Kenyon-Wanamingo fifth with a 375 tally, Hayfield was sixth at 396, Randolph seventh with 407, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva eighth at 436 and Maple River ninth at 439.

USC’s Kadyn Neubauer tied with JWP’s Steven Dimmel for medalist honors. Both golfers had identical scores of 36-36-72 for first place.

This was Neubauer’s sixth time this season with medalist honors at a meet.

Blake Bullerman was in seventh place with a 46-39-85, Brennan Olson was in 17th place with a 46-46-92. And, Brennan Olson rounded out the team’s scoring with a 49-48-97, good for a tie for 25th place.

Other Rebel varsity golfers were Jon Stanke in 27th place with a 50-48-98 and Mason Schrader in 38th place with a 59-50-109. There were 51 golfers in the boys tourney.

This was round one of the tournament. Round two was set for Monday, May 13, at the Austin Country Club.

USC Girls Golf Results

The USC girls got their fourth place finish by shooting a team score of 476.

Hayfield was in first place with a score of 392, Blooming Prairie second at 433 and Maple River was third at 446.

NRHEG took fifth with 483 and JWP, K-W, and Triton all had incomplete team scores.

Emma Heggen was in fifth place and led the USC team with a 47-48-95.

Emma Van Bourgonje was in 19th place with a 63-54-117, Eva Hernandez was in 20th place with a 58-64-122, and Madi Meyer was in 24th place with a 71-71-142 to complete the Rebels’ team score.

Other varsity players were Angelica Hernandez with a 71-72-143 (26th place) and Karly Koehler with a 75-72-147 for 27th place.
