USC girls defeat TCU-Cleveland in tennis

Squad also shut out River Valley 7-0, but lost to Maple River

The United South Central Rebel girls tennis team took on the team of Tri-City United-Cleveland and came away with a 6-1 victory on Tuesday, Sept. 24, only losing at No. 3 doubles.

Brylee Neubauer got things going with a hard fought win at No. 1 singles, downing Ellie Adams 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (4).

At No. 2 singles, Olivia Bungum also had a battle to take the win over Anne Cooper, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (5).

Lauren Hansen had an easier time of it at No. 3 singles, defeating Reagan Steffen 6-4, 6-0, and likewise Ivy O’Rourke cruised to a 6-0, 6-1, win over Destynee Wolff at No. 4 singles.

Addison Mithun and Maya Hansen teamed up for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-0, win over Avery Lerfald and Ava Flintrop at No. 1 doubles.

It was Julianna Clore and Caitlin Rheingans downing Addison Houn and Cristina Cruz at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, 6-4.

Rebels Kylee Koziolek and Brooklyn Miller lost to Hallie Holicky and Camryn Holicky 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 doubles.

USC 7, Redwood Valley 0

The United South Central girls tennis team shut out the Redwood Valley Cardinals, 7-0, in tennis action on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Brylee Neubauer got things going with a 6-1, 6-1, victory over Lily DeBlieck at No. 1 singles.

Olivia Bungum had a long hard-fought battle to defeat Kaelynn Welsch at No. 2 singles. The scores were 7-5, 7-6 (5).

At No. 3 singles, Lauren Hansen won 6-0, 6-3, over Grace Blare, and at No. 4 singles, Ivy O’Rourke won 6-3, 6-1, over Eloise Brozek.

Addison Mithun and Maya Hansen teamed up at No. 1 doubles and defeated Julia Lang and Aubree Keehl, 6-1, 6-2.

At No. 2 doubles it was the Rebel duo of Caitlin Rheingans and Julianna Clore who defeated Anais Cournoyer and Yazmin Nunez, 6-4, 6-1.

Kylee Kosziolek and Elise Hansen won a 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (2) battle over Faith Bruns and Harper Helgeson at No. 3 doubles.

Maple River 6, USC 1

The Maple River Eagles took a 6-1 win over the United South Central Rebels on Thursday, Sept. 19.

It was Ivy O’Rourke who got the Rebels’ only win of the match. Playing at No. 3 singles, O’Rourke downed Claire Langworthy in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.

At No. 1 singles, Brylee Neubauer lost 6-2, 6-0, to Macy Sohre. At No. 2 singles Olivia Bungum lost 6-0, 6-0, to Tabitha Barkosky. And, Caitlin Rheingans fell 6-2, 6-4, to Reagan Reuter at No. 4 singles.

Addison Mithun and Lauren Hansen lost 6-2, 6-4, to Ally Mersman and Norah Davis at No. 1 doubles. It was Maya Hansen and Julianna Clore who lost 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles. Kylee Koziolek and Elise Hansen fell to Kennedi Oliver and Merrit Ward at No. 3 doubles by scores of 6-0, 6-2.
