USC cross country boys keep improving
Oakview Golf Course near Freeborn was the site of the No Frills Invite cross country meet on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Blooming Prairie and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton tied for the top spot in the boys competition with 50 points each. United South Central/Alden-Conger came in third with 63 points and Medford was fourth with 71.
Laiken Farris had the best time for the Rebels. He completed the course in 19:38 to finish in fourth place.
Aiden Edwards ran to a 10th-place finish with a time of 21:43. Riley Krohnberg was 11th in 22:09, Isaac Hartman was 15th in 23:02 and Benjamen Schwartz was 23rd in 25:40.
The Rebel girls were unable to field a complete team but had three individual runners who competed.
Alexis Guenther placed sixth when she crossed the finish line in 23:47. Placing 15th was Clare Kruse with a time of 27:06 while Hailey Bjornstad was 29th in 32:55.
Waseca Invitational Meet
The United South Central/Alden-Conger boys cross country team did well at the Waseca Invitational Meet on Thursday, Oct. 3, coming in at fourth place.
Leading the way was Laiken Farris who came in with a time of 18:43 which put him in ninth place. Isaac Hartman came in at 19th place with a time of 20:31.
Aiden Edwards was 27th with a time of 21:26, Riley Krohnberg was in 29th place with a time of 21:33 and Benjamin Schwartz placed 34th at 23:06.
The USC/AC girls cross country team had an incomplete team score, but did have three runners compete.
Alexis Guenther came in at 14th place with a time of 22:04.
Clare Kruse ran a time of 24:42 to place 32nd and Hailey Bjornstad was 38th with a time of 30:44.
