BEA, USC wind up cross country seasons
Woodwick, Eitzmann earn All-Section honors for Buccaneers

Members of Blue Earth Area’s and United South Central/Alden Conger’s cross country teams competed at the Section 2A Championship on Oct. 24, at Baylor Park near Norwood Young America.
Loyola-Cleveland-St. Clair won both the girls and boys team competitions.
Girls Results
The BEA girls finished in eighth place out of 15 teams while the USC/AC girls came in 14th.
Individually, two BEA runners, Aubrey Woodwick and Sidney Eitzmann, each earned All-Section honors.
Woodwick finished 14th in 21:10 while Eitzmann finished 15 in 21:13.
“Aubrey ran a great race and almost beat her time from last year for this course. She was only three seconds off a personal record,” BEA coach Peter Koenig said. “She was followed closely by Sidney, who ran her best race ever, beating her previous PR by 20 seconds. Both Aubrey and Sidney earned All-Section Honors which is quite a feat considering the strength of runners in our section.”
Other results for the Bucs were Natalie Griffey finishing 36th in 22:38, April Garcia was 86th in 27:17, Makayla Ankeny was 88th in 27:18, Myla Eastman was 93rd in 28:23 and Analiz Leal was 103rd in 32:10.
Alexis Guenther led the Rebels with a time of 21:51.96 to finish 25th. Danyelle Dickson was 38th in 22:45.27, Clare Kruse was 56th in 24:07.81, Emma Johnson was 70th in 25:07.86, Hailey Bjornstad was 101st in 30:56.93 and Isabella Guenther was 102nd in 31:57.62.
Boys Results
For the boys, it was the Rebels finishing 14th and the Bucs placing 15th.
Devin Haase turned in the fastest time for BEA at 18:58 to place 44th. Marcus Eckles was 76th in 20:24, Samuel Bell was 93rd in 21:26, Gibson Haase was 95th in 21:39, Oliver Ankeny was 98th in 21:59, Michael Vaske was 106th in 23:26 and Noah Hanson was 108th in 23:46.
“Devin crushed the course, getting under 19 minutes for the first time ever and dropping his PR by almost a full minute,” Koenig commented. “Marcus joined him by shaving 1:20 off of his best time from last season with a strong and determined run.”
Laiken Farris was the top finisher for the Rebels with a time of 18:19 which put him in 32nd place. Isaac Hartman was 72nd in 20:19, Aiden Edwards was 83rd in 20:40, Riley Krohnberg was 92nd in 21:16, Samuel Treptow was 94th in 21:35 and Benjamin Schwartz was 100th in 22:17.
