The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team traveled to Waseca to take on the Bluejays on Friday, Dec. 13. Although they improved their score from their previous meet, Waseca narrowly defeated BEA 127.9-125.2.

Although they didn’t get the victory, Buccaneer coach Rachel Cole felt there were many positives to take away from the meet.

“It was good to see the girls back at 125,” Cole commented. “They hit everywhere except the beam. Tailor (Douglas) had a stuck routine, so hopefully the confidence is coming. We have started working on some new tumbling passes and we hope to work on a few new vaults and release skills over the holiday break.”

In vault, the Bucs were led by Parker Stallman who finished third with an 8.825. Douglas was fourth with 8.725, MaLeah Osmundson was sixth with 8.45, Cassandra Hagedorn was ninth with 8.0 and Kyannah Brandt was 10th with 7.875.

The bars saw the Bucs take five of the top six spots.

Douglas was second with 7.7, Stallman finished in third place with 7.55, Osmundson was fourth with 7.375, Brynlee Amundson was fifth with 7.05 and Audrey Schonborn was sixth with 6.975.

Douglas led the Bucs on beam with an 8.225 to place second. Osmundson was fifth with 7.3, Stallman took eighth with 6.65, Ella Schonborn and Hagedorn tied for ninth with 6.6.

Stallman led BEA in floor with a second-place finish of 8.425. Osmundson was fifth with 8.15, Hagedorn was sixth with 8.125, Taylynn Amundson was seventh with 8.05 and Brynlee Amundson was eighth with 7.3.

The Bucs captured two of the top three spots in the all-around. Stallman finished in second place with 31.45 and Osmundson placed third with 31.275.

JV Results

BEA’s junior varsity team downed Waseca 100.7 to 27.75.

Khloe McGowen finished in first place in the all-around with a score of 25.6. Finishing second with a score of 20 was Audrey Schonborn and in third place was Ella Schonborn with 19.9.
