The Rebel girls won by a score of 54 to 39. USC actually trailed at halftime, 30-26, but then upped their defense in the second half and limited Cathedral to only nine points in the second stanza.

The first half was a back and forth affair, with the lead changing several times.

After a three-pointer by the Rebels, they took the lead at 15-14. But a three by the Greyhounds gave them the lead at 17-15. Next, the Rebels got a basket to tie the game 17-17.

USC led 24-22 but then the New Ulm Cathedral girls went up 27-24. The Greyhounds got three more points and the Rebels just two, for the score to be 30-26 when the halftime buzzer sounded.

The second half started off with the Rebel girls going on a 14-0 run and taking a big 40-30 lead and never looking back, on their way to the 54-39 victory.
