Ivy O’Rourke drains eight 3-pointers

Helps lead Rebels to 65-29 triumph over the Cleveland Clippers

Thanks to a record breaking performance from one of their players, the United South Central Rebels’ girls basketball team downed the Cleveland Clippers by a score of 65-29.

The game was played on Monday night, Jan. 6, at home in Wells.

Ivy O’Rourke made an amazing eight of her 14 attempts at three pointers. She finished with 32 points.

She broke the school record for number of 3-point field goals made in a single game that had been previously set by her teammate, Olivia Bungum.

Bungum had 14 points in the game against the Clippers, as well as having eight steals.

Addison Mithun had eight points as well as grabbing eight rebounds. Taylor Schroeder added seven points to the team’s tally.

Chloe Bullerman scored just two points but she had 10 blocked shots during the game.

The victory evened USC’s record at 6-6.

Next up for the Rebel girls was a game on Thursday, Jan. 9 when they were set to host the Waseca Bluejays. They were scheduled to play the next night, Friday, Jan. 10, in a game at Kenyon-Wanamingo.

USC 86, Madelia 58

Fresh off of a loss the night before, the United South Central girls basketball team exploded for 86 points on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they took on the Madelia Blackhawks.

USC won the game 86-58.

The Rebels’ Taylor Schroeder scored 36 points, which is a new USC school record for points scored in a single game. Schroeder also recorded six rebounds.

Two other USC players recorded double figure point tallies. Oliva Bungum had 24 points to go along with six rebounds and six steals. Ivy O’Rourke had 16 points in the game.

Alivia Bruegger added eight points and also led the team with 12 rebounds.

Next up for the Rebels was a game played on Monday, Jan. 6, against Cleveland in Wells.

Randolph 54, USC 46

It was a close battle on Friday night, Jan. 3, when the United South Central Rebels took on the Randolph Rockets.

But, the Rebels fell to the Rockets by the close score of 54-46.

Leading the way for the Rebels was Taylor Schroeder with 22 points. She also led the team in rebounding with 13 grabs.

Olivia Bungum had 10 points and also seven rebounds. Chloe Bullerman had four points and eight rebounds.
