Buc gymnasts hit season high mark
Tailor Douglas scores a 9.25 on beam in meet against MCA

BEA’s Tailor Douglas seems to be floating in the air while performing her floor routine. Douglas finished in second place in the all around in recent meets against Martin County Area and New Ulm Area.
The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team had their first home meet of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 14, when they hosted the Martin County Area Magic.
BEA recorded their highest team score of the season but fell to MCA 135.675-130.325.
“It was a good home opener for us and great to see us reach a season-high score,” Bucs coach Rachel Cole said. “We only recorded one fall on beam. We are working through a few injuries, so we have a couple of girls out of the lineup or only doing a few events. We hope to get them back in the lineup by next week.”
In vault, BEA’s Tailor Douglas finished third with a score of 8.75. Kailey Boettcher was seventh with 8.4, Cassandra Hagedorn was eighth with 8.35, Kyannah Brandt was ninth with 8.2 and Taylynn Amundson was 10th with 8.05.
The Bucs’ Parker Stallman captured first place on bars with an 8.275. Douglas was fourth with 7.975, Audrey Schonborn was fifth with 7.4, Brynlee Amundson was seventh with 7.35 and Taylynn Amundson was ninth with 6.35.
Douglas finished first on beam with a score of 9.25. Stallman placed sixth with 7.8, Hagedorn was eighth with 7.4, Sidney Eitzman was ninth with 7.3 and Khloe McGowen was 10th with 6.725.
Douglas recorded a 8.975 in floor to finish in second place. Boettcher had an 8.35 to finish sixth, Brynlee Amundson was seventh with 8.325, Taylynn Amundson was eighth with 8.225 and Hagedorn was ninth with 7.9.
The all around totals showed Douglas in second place with a 34.95. Hagedorn was sixth with 23.65, Taylynn Amundson was seventh with 22.625, Boettcher was ninth with 16.75, Stallman was 11th with 16.075 and Brynlee Amundson was 12th with 15.675.
“The individual growth of these girls throughout the season has been so fun to watch, and they have still got more they are working on,” Cole concluded.
JV Results
Martin County Area’s junior varsity defeated Blue Earth Area 122.25-107.2.
Kailey Boettcher placed first on beam with a 7.7 while Kyannah Brandt was third with 7.4.
Cassandra Hagedorn had a third-place finish on bars with a 6.9.
BEA’s Ella Schonborn placed fifth in the all around with a score of 27.75

The Bucs’ gymnastics team traveled to New Ulm on Thursday, Jan. 9, to compete against the New Ulm Area Eagles.
NUA claimed the team victory 132.525-126.360.
Tailor Douglas was first in vault with an 8.775. Other BEA scores were MaLeah Osmundson in sixth place with 8.3, Cassandra Hagedorn in eighth with 8.25, Kyannah Brandt in ninth with 8.175 and Taylynn Amundson in 10th with 7.95.
The bars competition was won by BEA’s Parker Stallman with an 8.025. Douglas was third with 7.9, Brynlee Amundson was fourth with 7.45, Osmundson was sixth with 7.1 and Audrey Schonborn was ninth with 7.0.
Douglas was second on beam with a score of 8.4. Osmundson placed fifth with 7.575, Stallman was eighth with 6.775, Kyannah Brandt was ninth with 6.55 and Hagedorn was 10th with 6.5.
Douglas was also the top finisher for the Bucs in floor with an 8.7 which put her in fourth place. Osmundson was sixth with 8.3, Boettcher was seventh with 8.2, Taylynn Amundson was ninth with 7.875 and Hagedorn was 10th with 7.75.
The Bucs grabbed two of the top three spots in the all around. Douglas placed second with a score of 33.775 and Osmundson was third with 31.725.
The Bucs played host to the St. Peter Saints on Thursday, Jan. 16.
JV Results
New Ulm Area’s junior varsity team defeated BEA’s junior varsity team 117.2-114.05.
Top three placings for the Bucs included Taylynn Amundson placing third in bars with a 6.8, Sidney Eitzman placing third in beam with a 7.0 and Brynlee Amundson placing first in floor with an 8.1.
Khloe McGowen placed second in the all around with a score of 27.6 and Ella Schonborn finished third with 27.0.
