Rebel girls fall to JWP Bulldogs 68-37

The first half of the United South Central girls basketball game against the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs was pretty even, but it was a different story in the second half.
The game was played at home for the Rebels on Monday, Jan. 27, with USC falling to JWP by a final score of 68-37.
There were a lot of missed shots and turnovers in the opening minutes of the game, and at six and a half minutes in, the score was tied 4-4.
At the half time buzzer JWP led by just five points, 25-20.
It was a different scenario in the second stanza, with the Bulldogs outscoring the Rebels 43-17.
Olivia Bungum led the Rebels with a 19 point performance, Taylor Schroeder also hit double figures, scoring 10 points for USC.
USC’s next scheduled game was set for Friday, Jan. 31, with a game at New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.
This week the Rebels play at LeRoy Ostrander on Tuesday, Feb. 4, then host Alden-Conger on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown the next night on Friday, Feb. 7.

Blooming Prairie 62
The United South Central girls basketball team notched another win for the season when they took on the Blooming Prairie Blossoms on Thursday, Jan. 23.
However, the game ended up close, with the Rebels taking the victory by the tight score of 65-62.
The Rebels had three players come in with double figure scoring totals.
They were led by an outstanding performance by Taylor Schroeder, who added another 27 points to her recent 1,000-point career tally. She also had four steals in the game.
Ivy O’Rourke came in with 17 points and Olivia Bungum, another 1,000-point scorer, added 15 for the Rebels’ total against the Blossoms.
Alivia Bruegger had four points and also led the team in rebounding with 15 grabs.
