BEA gymnasts defeat Windom/ML
Girls win 130.95-117.325; Douglas takes first place in all-around

The Blue Earth Area varsity gymnastics team finished off the home portion of their schedule on Friday, Jan. 31, with a 130.95-117.325 victory over the visiting Windom-Mountain Lake Eagles.
The Bucs got off to a good start when they captured five of the top six places in vault.
Tailor Douglas finished first with a 9.1. Parker Stallman was second with 8.65, MaLeah Osmundson was third with 8.475, Ella Schonborn tied for fourth with 8.375 and Kyannah Brandt tied for fifth with 8.275.
Like the vault, the Bucs also grabbed five of the top six places on bars.
Stallman took the top spot with an 8.15 followed by Douglas in second place with an 8.075. Brynlee Amundson was third with 7.575, Audrey Schonborn was fifth with 7.425 and Osmundson was sixth with 6.925.
The Bucs did not do quite as well in beam as they had done in the first two events but still managed to outpoint the Eagles.
A score of 8.775 put Douglas in first place. Osmundson had the next highest score for BEA with a 7.6, which put her in fourth place. Brandt finished sixth with 7.25, Stallman was seventh with 7.15 and Sidney Eitzman was eighth with 6.55.
The Bucs finished the meet on a high note by sweeping the top five spots in floor.
Douglas had a 9.0 to place first while Stallman’s 8.55 was good for second place. Taylynn Amundson was third with 8.45, Brynlee Amundson and Osmundson tied for fourth with 8.35.
BEA took the top three spots on the podium in the all-around.
Douglas, a senior competing in her final home meet, was first with a total of 34.95 points. Stallman finished in second place with a 32.5 and Osmundson placed third with a 31.35. They were the only Buc gymnasts to compete in all four events at the meet.
JV Results
The BEA junior varsity team topped Windom/Mountain Lake in each of the four events to down the Eagles 119-96.28.
The Bucs had six girls compete in vault and they finished in the top six spots.
Cassandra Hagedorn finished first with 8.35. Brynlee Amundson and Audrey Schonborn tied for second place with 8.2. Amaya Mensing was third with 8.15 and Khloe McGowen and Taylynn Amundson tied for fourth with 8.1.
Hagedorn was also first on bars with a 7.350. Taylynn Amundson was second with 6.55, McGowen tied for third with 5.75, Mensing was fourth with 5.45 and Ella Schonborn was fifth with 5.2.
The results on beam showed the Buccaneers grabbing seven of the top eight spots.
McGowen was first with 8.2, Brynlee Amundson was second with 7.2, Hagedorn was third with 6.8, Elsa Greer finished in fourth place with 6.7, Mensing placed fifth with 6.6, Ella Schonborn was sixth with 6.5 and Taylynn Amundson was eighth with 6.3.
BEA dominated in floor by grabbing the top five spots.
Hagedorn was first with 8.4, Brandt was second with 8.3, McGowen finished third with 7.9, Ella Schonborn placed fourth with 7.5 and Audrey Schonborn finished fifth with 7.3.
Two BEA gymnasts competed in all four events and placed first and second in the all-around. Hagedorn was first with 30.9 and McGowen was second with 29.95.
