The 2025 gymnastics season came to an end for the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers with their participation in the Section 2A Gymnastics Meet on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Although no Buccaneer gymnast advanced to State, the team and individuals ended their season on a good note with many fine performances.

Mankato East placed first in the team part of the competition with a score of 143.625 while Mankato West grabbed the runner-up spot with a score of 142.15. Martin County Area was third with 137.075, Waseca placed fourth with 134.275, New Ulm-Minnesota Valley Lutheran was fifth with 131.675 with BEA taking sixth with 131.175. St. Peter with 129.3 was seventh, St. James was eighth with 115.35 and Faribault was ninth with 106.575.

The competition in each individual event was fierce with 44 gymnasts vying to earn a trip to State.

Here are some of BEA’s best performances.

Parker Stallman got the top score for the Bucs in vault with an 8.7 to finish in a tie for 15th place. Also finishing in the top half was Tailor Douglas with a score of 8.5 which was good for 22nd place.

Douglas and Stallman each scored 8.2 on bars which put them in a tie for 10th place. Brynlee Amundson had a 7.7 to finish tied for 22nd and MaLeah Osmundson was 24th with a 7.45.

A score of 8.5 by Douglas on beam put her in 15th place. Kyannah Brandt finished 23rd with an 8.15.

Stallman produced an 8.95 on floor to finish 12th. MaLeah Osmundson was 17th with 8.6, Tailor Douglas was 22nd with 8.45, Kailey Boetcher was 23rd with 8.425 and Taylynn Amundson was 27th with 8.35.

Douglas was BEA’s top finisher in the all-around with a score of 33.65 to place 12th. She was followed closely by Stallman who finished 13th with 33.57. Osmundson cracked the top 20 with a score of 31.225 to finish tied for 19th.

Douglas is the only senior graduating from this year’s team so the Bucs will have many experienced gymnasts returning to compete next year.
