Track teams compete at ME Invitational
The Blue Earth Area track teams returned to Mankato on Thursday, March 27, for their second indoor meet of the 2025 season. This meet was hosted by Mankato East and also featured Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
Girls Results
Mankato East grabbed the top spot in the girls portion of the meet with 72.5 points. Placing second was JWP with 45 points while BEA was third with 21.5.
Top performances by the Bucs included Emersen Wier who finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 72.0. Natalie Schiltz took fourth place in the race by crossing the finish line with a time of 77.0.
Aubrey Woodwick took third place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:46 while April Garcia was sixth in 3.12.
In the 200-meter dash, Breanna Hefner-Roggerman finished third in 30.1 and Grace Nelson was sixth in 30.9.
Nelson was fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.9 and Parker Stallman was sixth in 9.3.
The 60-meter high hurdles saw Kyannah Brandt take fifth place with a time of 12.0 and Weir finish sixth in 13.0.
All three of the Bucs’ relay teams brought home third place finishes. The 4×200-meter relay team had a time of 2:05.7 and was made up of Brandt, Hefner-Roggerman, Grace Schavey and Tailor Douglas.
The 4×400-meter relay team of Sidney Eitzmann, Caitlin Eitzmann, Weir and Schiltz crossed the line with a time of 4:52.1.
In the 4×800-meter relay, Sidney Eitzmann, Caitlin Eitzmann, Madie Redepenning and Woodwick finished with a time of 11:44.4 for their third-place finish.
The field events saw Addison Smith finish second in the high jump with a height of 4-6 while Sarah Dohm was fourth with a mark of 4-4.
Brandt finished third in the long jump with a leap of 12-11.75.
Dohm was third in the triple jump with a distance of 29-2 and Sidney Eitzmann was fourth with a mark of 28-7.
In the pole vault, Douglas cleared the bar at a height of 7-6 to finish in third place.
Taylor Ripley’s toss of 30-4 in the shot put was good for fourth place. Anna Mwangi finished in fifth place with a throw of 26-4.5.
Boys Results
Mankato East also placed first in the boys portion of the meet with a score of 89 points. Coming in second was BEA with 28 which was just ahead of JWP’s score of 26.
The 4×200-meter relay team of Gage Barker, Caden Juba, Jose Salinas and Jacob Grandgenett took the top spot with a time of 1:43.3.
In the 4×400-meter relay, Salinas, Juba, Isaac Anderson and Marcus Eckles ran to a second-place finish by crossing the finish line in 3:58.0.
The 200-meter dash was won by Grandgenett with a winning time of 24.0. Gage Barker finished in fourth place with a time of 25.4.
Grandgenett tied for third place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.3. Salinas was fifth in 7.6
Eckles completed the 60-meter high hurdles in 9.2 to finish in second place while Pablo Ozuna was fourth in 10.5.
Oliver Ankeny and Gibson Haase competed in the 800-meter run with Ankeny finishing fourth in 2:55 and Haase coming in fifth in 3.20.
Hayden Prestegard was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 64.8 while Ankeny placed fifth in 65.0.
Chase Gambell was third and Omar Gomez was fifth in the shot put. Gambell’s toss was good for 42-0 while Gomez had a throw of 34-8.5.
Anderson cleared the bar at a height of 5-10 in the high jump to finish in second place. Hauskins took fourth place with a mark of 5-6.
Eckles was fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 17-6.5 and Barker was sixth with a mark of 16-6.5.
Juba placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 33-6 and Ryder Stauffer was sixth with a distance of 32-6.
