Rebel boys win triangular
The United South Central Rebel boys golf team took first place in a triangular held on Tuesday, April 8, at the Oak View Golf Course in Freeborn.
The Rebel boys shot a team total of 193, while St. Clair came in with a 216 and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva shot a 221.
Leading the way for USC, and gaining medalist honors, was junior Brennan Olson with a 44. Colton Husfeldt, an eighth grader, was one stroke behind at 45 good for second place.
Senior Dylan Stephens was fourth with a 51 and USC’s other team score was a 53 from senior Mason Schrader, who was in a three-way tie for sixth place.
USC’s other team members were eighth-grader Octavio Hernandez, who was right behind Schrader with a score of 54, and freshman Tommy Hansen who carded a 63.
USC girls team second
The USC girls golf team was second at the home triangular held on April 8 at Oak View.
St. Clair took first with a team score of 217 and USC was second with a score of 252. New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva did not have a complete score.
The Rebels’ Emma Heggen, a senior, was in third place with a score of 52. Freshman Angelica Hernandez was in fourth place with a score of 58.
Seniors Lauren Hansen and Maya Hansen both shot identical scores of 71.
USC’s other two team members were sophomore Bella Roberts in 13th place with a score of 75 and sophomore Brynlee Olson who was 15th with a score of 81.
Next meet for USC was scheduled to be on Thursday, April 10.
