USC softball team improves to 11-0
Latest wins are against Faribault Bethlehem Academy and MCW

USC’s Mariah Anderson keeps racking up the strikeouts while the Rebels keep winning. USC’s record stands at 11-0 through the end of April.
The United South Central girls softball team had a little bit tougher outing than usual when they squared off against the Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals on Tuesday, April 29.
The Rebels still won the game with a score of 5-0, but that is closer than most of their games have been this season.
USC scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and one more run in the fifth inning.
The Rebels outhit the Cards seven to two.
Mariah Anderson led the team at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance. One of her three hits was a double and one was a triple.
Alivia Bruegger, Ivy O’Rourke, Olivia Bungum and Lilly Lutteke all had one hit in the game, with Bruegger and O’Rourke hitting doubles.
Anderson also pitched all seven innings of the game for the Rebels. She gave up no runs, two hits, walked none and struck out 14.
Morgan Wilson pitched six innings for the Cards and gave up five runs (all earned) on seven hits, walked one and struck out 11.
USC 6, MCW 2
The United South Central Rebels softball team took a 6-2 win against the Martin County West Mavericks on Friday, April 25. Although it wasn’t real close, it was one of the closest games they have had this season.
The game was scoreless for the first three innings but then the Rebels scored two runs in the fourth inning and another four in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.
MCW came back and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a closer game at 6-2. Neither team scored a run in the last two innings.
The Rebels outhit the Mavericks 10-7. Taylor Schroeder and Alivia Bruegger were both 2 for 4 at the plate. Mariah Anderson was 1 for 4 batting but her one hit was a triple.
Olivia Bungum, Lilly Lutteke, Ivy O’Rourke, Brylee Neubauer and Addie Mithun all had one hit each.
Anderson pitched all seven innings for the Rebels and allowed the two runs on seven hits, walked one batter and struck out 15 Mavericks.
Maddie Carlson pitched all seven innings for the Mavs and gave up 10 hits, six of them earned, walked two Rebel batters and struck out eight.
