USC girls second, boys third at A-C Golf Meet

The United South Central boys and girls golf teams competed in a triangular meet on Friday, May 2. The meet was held on the Oak View Golf Course by Freeborn, with Alden-Conger hosting the event.

The Rebel boys took third and the Rebel girls were second.

Girls Team Results

Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/ Truman took first place in the girls competition, with a team tally of 246. The USC girls were second with a team score of 250 and Alden-Conger was third at 258.

USC’s Emma Heggen shot a 52 and took first place and medalist honors, for the fourth time this season.

Angelica Hernandez shot a 64 and was in fifth place, Maya Hansen carded a 66 and was in eighth place, and Bella Roberts was tied for 10th place with a score of 68, to complete the Rebels team tally.

Other USC golfers were Lauren Hansen with a 71 in 13th place and Brynlee Olson shot an 84 for 17th place.

The USC girls’ record is 8-5-1.

Boys Team Results

GHEC-ML-T also won the boys meet with a score of 172. Close behind was Alden-Conger with a 175 and second place, while USC was third with a 204 team tally.

Brennan Olson and Grayson Husfeldt both shot a 48 to tie for eighth place.

Mason Schrader shot 50 and was tied for 11th place, and Dylan Stephens had a 58 and was in 14th place to fill out USC’s team total.

Ryder Anderson shot 59 and was in 15th place and Tommy Hansen carded a 61 for a tie at 16th place.

The USC Rebels now have a record of 7-11. Their next meet was set for Thursday, May 8, at Round 2 of the Gopher Conference Golf Meet at North Links Golf Course in North Mankato. Details on that golf meet will be in the next issue of the Faribault County Register.
